Happy New Year Everyone!

I just wanted to pop in and say "Happy New Year" to everyone! I'm sorry that I've not posted in a couple of days, but I've been busy with family stuff. I should be back with a post tomorrow.

In the mean time, take a peek at my sneak peek from the Angel Company.

This is another peek of another stamp set that will be available with our new Megalogue coming out Feb. 1. It is called You Are and will retail for $8.95. Cant wait? Neither can I!! I think that I'm getting bored with my stuff and need something new to "re-charge" my inspiration!

Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to post something that I've worked on.

I wish you all a safe and happy New Year's evening! See you back here tomorrow!

A new sketch and a few cards....

Good morning everyone, make it thru the weekend ok? I sure hope so! I thought that a sketch was in order. I was kind of stuck the other day and thought that I needed a sketch, so here it goes.
I think that I may of posted this sketch a year ago, I'm not sure. I have a sketch book that I keep in the living room for when hubby's involved in some western or the sci-fi channel and I'm not too into the program. I've got lots and lots of sketches in it, I just never got into a routine of posting them. Well, I am now. Let's say it will be one of my New Years resolutions. One that I intend to keep Ü

So, my take on the sketch. Here it is.

I kinda killed two birds with one stone on this. I needed some thank you cards to send out and like I said I was stumped, so I used my sketch book. I guess that's kinda what it's for, isn't it?

I was flipping thru all my SU! sets to stamp some images for my SIL (I'll get into that story later) and I noticed this set had not even seen ink yet! Of course I had to oblige!

The image is from Puns From the Past that I watercolored and punched out with my SU! square scallop punch and inked some Real Red ink around the edge. I layered that on to a piece of TAC's Amberly Grace DP and a piece of Real Red. The base card is Real Red that I layered with a piece Amberly Grace DP and a piece of Not Quite Navy that was run thru the cuttlebug. The layer behind the image panel is also Real Red, Amberly Grace DP and a piece of Bashful Blue that I used the SU! scallop border punch on ~ I also added a thin piece of ribbon to hide the seam. The sentiment panel, also the same. I stamped the sentiment from Everyday Expressions, colored the heart with watercolor, sponged Real Red around the edge and layered it with the Amberly Grace and Real Red papers.

This card, well is the same - just different. The base card is Lavender Lace that I layered with a piece of purple cs that I bought at Big Lots (real deal!! $2.00 for a pack of 50 different colors & textures!!!) and a piece of ribbon at the bottom to break up some of the color. The strip under the sentiment panel is a piece of TAC's Angelee DP on a piece of Lavender Lace cs. I stamped the sentiment in black, punched out with my square scallop punch and the edges are inked with Lavender Lace ink. I layered that on to a piece of Angelee DP, Lavender Lace and the purple cs. It went on to the card with pop dots. For the "K" in the corner - I stamped that in Lavender Lace ink, punched it out with my scallop square punch and inked the edges with Lavender Lace ink as well. I used my Marvy scallop circle punches to punch a piece of purple and Lavender Lace cs, added dots to the edges and used pop dots to adhere it to the card.

I think that both of the cards turned out well, don't you?

Oh, about my SIL.... Well, I think that I might of mentioned it before - but after me being here over 3 years now and all the stamping that she's seen me do she's finally started to take an interest in it. I've set her up with a few of the basics. Pens, pencils, scissors, X-acto, cutting mat ~ you know, the basics. For Christmas we bought her a bunch of paper packs and embellishments. But I cant see buying any stamps for her right now when I've got so many. She is still somewhat house bound with dog health issues, so I'm taking stuff over to her. When I do I bring a stack of stamped images that she can work with. Right now I go thru all my stamps and stamp out what I see she will like, or can use. But I've set up a little box for her. When I stamps something out I am going to stamp it twice, that way I'll have something already when I go out there. It all will work out.

Well, enough is enough for today. I should be back tomorrow with something else I've done.

Have a great day!
Hugs,
Joani

Just a little gift...

I thought that I'd share with you a little gift that I made my SIL for Christmas. When we were over at her house one day she mentioned that she wanted a cough drop but they were in the other room. She said, I have nothing to keep them in. Of course the idea bulb went off!! And she is always saving containers of all different sizes for me, so I thought that I'd decorate one for her.
All the paper used was from SU! and it's from the Bella Rose collection. I covered an old Crystal Light container. I added various flowers, brads & ribbon to dress it up. I cut the word "drops" with my Cricut Base Camp cartridge from Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette papers and hot glued on to the container.
I took my scalloped oval punches and punched some random scraps to add to the container for a little extra color. Not to mention to cover my seams. I always try to cover all the seams if possible. It looks a little better if you can do that.
On the lid I used my Scallop Circle punches and added a Prima and crystal brad to it. I had some baby pink rick rack that I added around the edge to dress that up a bit. And yes, she liked it, I was happy!
Well, the day is 1/2 over and I've only just begun. My clock is so off with hubby being home. I've still got him for another couple of weeks, which is fine. But everyday feels like a weekend day because he's home. And the dates, oh heck. I don't even know the dates anymore. Of course once I get back on track he'll go back to work.
I'm off. I'm going to try to get something created today ~ if I can stay off the computer long enough! And don't forget to stop back by to take a look at my sneak peeks!! They are so tempting!
Have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Joani

Merry Christmas everyone!

CHRISTMAS
is more than a day at the end of the year
More than a day of joy and good cheer
Christmas is really God's pattern for living

Then peace on earth will come to stay
When we live Christmas every day.
Merry Chistmas and Happy Holidays to each and every one of you.

Just a little sneek peek.....

Would you like to see what The Angel Company is coming out with on February 1st in our new manalogue? First let me explain what a megalogue is. It is a cross between a catty and a magazine. They will have one base book for the year, then they will have a Fall and a Spring megalogue to supplement the base book. And another thing that I like is TAC will now have the images in the catty viewed at 100% not at 70% like it is now.

Anyone interested in a sneek peek? Well here you go. This is one item that you will be able to find, and it is available to you February 1st.

If you think that you may be interested, just contact me!

Happy Christmas Eve's Eve!

It's getting closer..... I must say that even though my Christmas spirit has not been too high this year I'm getting a little excited. I just love to see every one's expressions when they open presents. I am don't with my shopping, thank goodness. I don't think that I'd want to venture out to do anymore. The stores are not too packed ~ but the parking lots are awful. Yesterday I needed to go to Walmart to pick up some last minute items for Christmas dinner and the parking lot was a nightmare. Inside the store was not too bad, the isles were not crowded - except in grocery. But I made it out without a scratch Ü

I want to show you a couple of the last cards that I made for the holiday. This card I made for my cousin that I've been out of contact with for some time.

Once again, one of my favorite sets from SU! was Frosty. I really don't think that I've used him this year. Maybe, but I don't remember. And I love to go with non traditional colors, and my favorite color is purple!! I used some DP that my dear friend Betty left for me (thanks Betty ~ your the best-est!!) for the background. The base card is Lavender Lace. Ive got some Eggplant Envy layered on there with the DP. Since I don't have the Top Note die yet I used one that MaryBeth sent me (Thanks again MaryBeth!!) and just traced it. I inked the edges with Lovely Lilac ink. I stamped Frosty and colored him with my watercolors, inked the edges and added some glitter for the snow. I layered that on to a piece of Eggplant Envy also and placed it on the card. In the bottom right corner I placed a felt flower, some primas and a foam snowflake ~ all secured with crystal brads. I've been using my hot glue gun to place my flowers on cards. I just want to make sure that everything stays secure. There is nothing worse than receiving a card and it's fallen apart.

Here's the inside. I took a white sheet of cs and inked the edges with Lovely Lilac. I stamped the sentiment with Lovely Lilac and adhered it to a piece of Eggplant Envy and placed it on the card. I had a strip of the DP left and I placed it at the bottom for more decoration. I sure hope that it is well received. This card I made for Betty. I wanted to give her a special card because she's a special friend. And she's seen all the other cards that I've made. That's one thing about blog-hopping. If your friends with the person you see all the creations that they've made.

This set is called Heavenly Peace. The base card is Ballet Blue. I layered it with some Walmart paper and some silver cs that was run thru the cuttlebug. I stamped the image and sentiment with versamark and heat embossed it with Judikins silver EP. I inked the edges of the sentiment panel and layered them with Bashful Blue and Baja Breeze paper. I then added some primas with a crystal brad and that finished the outside of the card.
For some time now I've been on a kick to decorate the inside of my cards too! Why do you have to stop at just the outside. For Betty's card I added a piece of white cs and a strip of the DP inside. I added a piece of pretty white ribbon and some primas with crystal brads too. The only reason why I added the crystal brads inside was because I was not mailing it. If I was mailing it I don't think I'd use those, they are kind of bulky and they'd probably make a mark on the inside of the card.

I hope that you liked what I had for you today. I'm off to create a few things. Since I'm officially done with Christmas cards I'm working on Valentines. I'm not sure that I will be here for the next couple of days ~ but who knows!

If I don't make it here I wish you and your family's all a safe and happy holiday!

Joani

Monday Monday

Good (chilly) morning everyone. It is very, very chilly out this morning. They said that we were to hit about 4 degrees last night. So we slept with the heater on. Of course I've got my own personal heater - I'm always sleeping with the covers off. I'm not sure if it's that "time". You know, I am getting older ~ but I'm not cold. Everyone else is always cold - and I just sit with a shirt on as they've got 5 layers of clothes. A friend back in California once said that "your having your own personal summer".

I want to show you a few things that I've done. Yes, they are Christmas - and I hope to soon be starting on Valentines. When I was out shopping yesterday I found some cute pink tins at Big Lots. I'm always on the lookout for something. So, I've got my start for that holiday.

Here is another of the Music Makeover boxes that I did. They are so fun and easy to make. I made these for a couple people at hubby's work. When I was blog hopping and was on Lauren Meaders site I saw that she has the templates available to purchase. I thought that using those would make a great little gift. She has many different ones available, you've got to check it out.

I used the Walmart paper pack. When Betty stopped by last week I think that we used up that pack, there is just a few scraps left ~ so I probably won't be talking about that again. I used my Mega Scallop Circle punch, my SU! scallop circle & square punch, a foam snowflake (that I've had for years! From WAY back when Danielle was little!) and a crystal brad. The stamp set that I used was SU! Punches Three. I stamped the image in Real Red and Glorious Green twice. I then used my scallop square punch to punch out the images, then I cut the rest of the way with scissors so I could layer the 2 colors together. You can see that I stitched around the top flap of the box too. I used Velcro to keep it closed.

I made matching cards too!

For these cards I used the SU! set Sleigh Bells Ring. I stamped them with versamark and heat embossed them with Judikins gold EP. When I folded the card (Glorious Green and Riding Hood Red) I cut off the edge about 2 inches so you can see the inside. I layered it with DP and then layered the image on to cs before attaching it to the card. I added a white piece of paper inside and stamped the sentiment at the lower right hand corner. For just a touch of bling I added 3 baubles above the image panel and I was done.

For this little cutie I robbed Danielle's Darcies stash again! I just love snowmen, and this little guy is adorable. The base card is Bashful Blue. I layered some Walmart paper on to Old Olive cs and added a piece of giant rick rack. The image panel I colored with my watercolors and layered on to a piece of Certainly Celery. For the sentiment in the corner I stamped 'tis the season from my old SU! polar bear set and layered that on to Certainly Celery. I punched a piece of Old Olive out with my designer label punch then a piece of Certainly Celery with my circle punch, and I added the white dots with my white gel pen before adhering the sentiment. I thought that this turned out kinda cute, it's a fun card.

Well, I think that is enough for today. I still need to head off to the store for those last minute stocking stuffers. I think that stockings are so important. Even if it is little stuff, it goes to show that you took the time to find and pick out items for that person. Items that you know they will like and need or use. I had the same stocking for 30+ years, and when we moved out here my stocking was lost. I was actually heart broken. And to top it all off that first Christmas my stocking ended up empty. Hubby thought Mom got the stuff to fill it and Mom thought hubby bought stuff for it. I was sad. The first time in all those years that my stocking was empty. Now everyone makes sure that it is filled....

Ready for a breather....

I know that I am. I've not finished my shopping yet, but I'm ready for a breather. Today I've got to venture out into the world and do some shopping. Last minute gifts, stocking stuffers, crowds, rude people, hot cocoa, crazy drivers, candy canes, more rude people, spiked egg nog (lots of spiked egg nog) more crowds. Yes, I think this is how the day's going to be. Why is there so many people out there who insist on not being nice. Just yesterday I was at the grocery store and there was a "traffic jam" at the end of an isle. There was a sweet little old lady who was not sure where she was going, I was waiting for her to go first - because that's the type of person I am, and this lady came from behind me and cut in front of the lady and me. The poor woman looked scared or stunned, I'm not sure which ~ and then I let her go. I just turned to my hubby and said I guess what she needed to do was more important than being polite. Sometimes the season does not bring out the best in people.

Enough now, I'm off my soapbox.

I wanted to show you something that I made a while back. I'm sure that I posted it, but right now I can't seem to find it. It is a gift card holder. Now, I know that this one is for a birthday but you can use it for Christmas, just decorate it accordingly.

This is just a simple envelope. I folded it in half and taped the outer edges on the left side to hold the gift card in place - and the right side I just decorated with a sentiment panel. This set happens to be a TAC set called Wild West. It's one of my favorites! Before you add the image panel to the front of the card lay down a piece of ribbon to tie the gift holder closed with. So simple that you can make one in just a couple of minutes!!

I will be back tomorrow to show you some more goodies.

Have a great day!

Joani

Happy Windy Friday

Happy Friday everyone!

Tick tock, tick tock.... Getting closer everyone. Christmas is only 7 days away. Do you have all your Christmas crafts done? I've got a couple of last minute things to do, then I know I'm done. I am kinda excited to get started on Valentines day cards. I so want to make some of those mailboxes for Valentines, but I don't have a Target close by. Everyone seems to get them there.

You wanna see what I made for Danielle's bus driver? He is such a sweet guy. When she broke her ankle I called the transportation department to see if the driver could stop in front of the house to pick her up and drop her off ~ she was on crutches for a while and the bus stop is over 2 blocks away. Well, I was told that he could not "deviate" from the route. Then without asking him he started to stop in front of the house for her. What a sweetie! So I made a card and matching gift for him.

The base card is Chocolate Chip ~ I love that color!! I layered the card with some DP from SU! I think that it is called Frosty, I think.... and some Old Olive and more of the same DP. I stamped the image from Rubber Stampede and added the exhaust from the Crusin' Christmas set. I layered that on to a piece of Tangerine Tango. I water colored the image and used my Sakura pen on the exhaust to make it sparkle. The flowers are felt that I purchased from Big Lots some time ago and the snowflake is foam, attached all together with an orange brad. If you can tell, the DP is a little busy, but Betty had brought over another punch she got from Martha Stewart, isn't it cool?

Now, I must give credit where credit is due. This little pouch, box, pocket ~ whatever you want to call it - is from Lauren Meader over at My Time, My Creations, My Stampendance-it's her Music Makeover box that she sells over at Papertrey Ink. Now, before I lose you to those links ~ let me tell you the deet's....

The box I made out of a sheet of DP from the same SU! collection (Frosty, I think). I tood different pieces of it and layered it on to the flap of the box. The stamp is from an old SU! set (I'm sorry I forgot which one) and I punched it out with my Marvy Scallop Oval punch and layered it on to another punched piece. I added a couple Primas and felt flowers with crystal brads and I was done. I neglected to get a picture of the inside, but I put a hot chocolate packet, candy cane and marshmallows in it.

Danielle said that he loved it. I know at Christmas we are all thinking of our children's teachers, but do we forget the others? The counselors, the lunch ladies, the bus drivers.... They are all a part of our children's lives too.

Well, enough for today. I slept in a bit late and got started on this a little late. Now my day is completely thrown off. I hope to be back tomorrow with more. I've got lots more pictures to add.

Have a great day!
Hugs,
Joani

Only 8 more days, is your shopping done?

Only 8 more day's til Christmas everyone, do you have your shopping done? The past couple of months have been kind of, well how do I say it? Not too good. I'm just not in the spirit this year. I am normally shopping like a fool, singing Christmas songs all day long, drinking a wee bit of the spirits. But this year, nope. Now I really don't know why. I'm sure part of it is the loss of my Ginger (who by the way would of been 9 on Christmas day) but it just does not "feel" like Christmas. Am I the only one who feels like it was just the 4th of July? This year has flown by! My Mom has always said that the years go by faster the older you get ~ maybe that's true. But it's just not feeling like Christmas.

Even though I'm not too into the spirit this year, I've been crafting like it is.... I want to share a few things with you.

Remember a while back when I told you Betty was here and we made those card organizers? Well, I just finally finished mine! Now that I am done with all my cards, I thought that I'd take a break from holly and snowmen and finish it. So here goes. They are really easy to make, and you have to have some type of binding machine. Either the Bind it All or a Rubicoil. I found the project over at SCS, if you go HERE you can see the step by step directions - and find the calendar print outs too! If you go HERE you can see lots of other samples that people have made.
You will need 6 12" x 12" sheets of cardstock and two pieces of cs 6" x 7 3/4" for the covers. Score all of them at 4 1/4" from the bottom, turn it 1/4 turn the paper and score it at 6". You will now use a bone folder to make your score's crisp. Fold the 4 1/4" fold up, this will create the pocket. At this point you can decorate your sheets by either rubber stamping it or with paper like I did. Decorate your cover however you would like, then bind it together with your binding system. It really is not too difficult, it is just time consuming.

I'm thinking of making one of these for my SIL, and one for my cousin. I'm not sure that they will be done for Christmas ~ but I still want to try.

Oh, and I did not share with you what Betty brought over for us yesterday! She made the little mini pizza boxes and they were filled with Maple Fudge. OMGoodness, it is so yummy!!

I'm sorry for the fuzzy picture, but I had to show you. Betty told me that she got the snowman and reindeer off of some bags that she found on a shopping trip. I am SO the same way. I constantly look at things and think "hmmm. What could I use that for?" As a matter of fact, I've got my SIL saving things before she tosses them out to see if I can use it.
Well, I'm off for now. I hope you enjoyed my blog today. I'll be back to show more tomorrow!
Have a great rest of the day, and stay warm!
Hugs,
Joani

Happy Hump day everyone!

I don't know if I should say "woo-hoo" or "uh-oh!" that today is Wednesday. Today is my hubby's last day of work for almost a month. Toyota is shutting down production for pretty close to a month. He will be going back to work on January 12th. I guess I should say "woo-hoo" because we do get along very well. When he is home we spend most of our time together. And we work well together. We can do a project or anything and not argue, that's the least I can say for my ex. We'd be in the same room together for 10 minutes and find something to argue about (I guess that's why he's the ex, huh??)

So needless to say, I might be sporadic in my posting.
Betty was here yesterday and we actually created!! Most of the time we sit and chat, look at the clock and think 'we better get to work' and it's time to clean up. She drove in with her hubby on his way to work, we had quite a bit of snow drop.

They say that our county got 3 inches, but for some reason our tape measure is bigger. It was at least 4 1/2 inches. It was our first snow of the season. Since we've been here we've really not seen much snow. But yes, we need it - we've been in a drought for a couple of years.

Now, I'm sure you've seen enough of that ~ wanna see something we created??

Danielle and I have wanted to make real gingerbread cookies for a while. A few years ago we made a house, just from a kit - but it was not all that great. So this year we took a stab at Gingerbread cookies. Mom had a recipe on a bottle of molasses she bought and I read it and thought it looked pretty easy, and it did. Do Danielle and I made some and they were the best cookies!! They are nice and soft and tasty! She wanted to give some to her friends so I made a cute little diaper pouch to put them in. And those are just as easy to make, 4 folds and you are done! I got the directions from SCS - go here.

I used the Santa from my Holiday Tag Team set and water colored him. I used my marvy giga and mega scallop circle punches to punch out the circles ~ the TO: is an old D.O.T.S. stamp, the paper if from the Walmart paper packs and the flowers are felt with a foam snowflake and crystal brad attached to them. The clear bags are from SU! that I tied with some curling ribbon and the light bulb I got at Big Lot's this year.

I hope that you like them, give them a try. Really, you can make lots of them and fill them with goodies to pass out. They are quick, simple and fast.

Have a great day!
Hugs,
Joani

I am a
Daffodil

What Flower
Are You?

I am a Daffodil
I have a sunny disposition and are normally one of the first to show up for the party. I don't need too much attention from the host once you get there as you are more than capable of making yourself seen and heard

Rainy day Monday....

Good afternoon everyone! Well, so far it is. They are calling for a winter storm warning here. This afternoon it is supposed to start with a freezing rain and switch to snow later on. They said that tomorrow morning's commute will be bad ~ I'm sure Danielle had something to do with that. All the praying she's been doing to have school cancelled ;-)

I tried to get on the computer Saturday morning and couldn't. So we had some errands to run and family stuff to do so I did not bother with it. When I came home later that evening there was no phone or Internet. It was too late to start with it so I waited till Sunday. Then of course life happens and I end up leaving and came home later in the day. I tried to fool with everything - being the computer guru I am (ha ha ha) basically unplugging the router and plugging it back in, and still nothing. So I first call Vonage, they had me unplug everything too. Nothing. So the Vonage guy (who was super nice) did a 3 way call to the cable company. The guy at the cable company was not too well trained in customer service I'll tell you. He preceded to tell me that they can offer a bundle package with phone service (um, hell-o! The phone guy is still on the phone!!) and I politely said "no thank you" so after that he was not really interested in helping me. He said "We can have a tech out there, um, our earliest appointment is... um, tomorrow - it's all we have is um, an appointment from 8:00 am to 10:00 am and he'll call first". I didn't mind the appointment but all the UM's were killing me! I am up at that time so sure! The man was here at 8:10 this morning. I thought I'd get a call first. So that goes to show ~ you never know when company will show up, so get dressed in the morning ~ and brush those teeth!

My dear friend Betty's back from Canada and she'll be here tomorrow to have a play day. Since the weather's scheduled to be nasty she'll ride in with her hubby on his way to work. Yes, I've got to be up and ready again early ~ but we'll have pancakes for breakfast, so there's the incentive!

I'll have pictures for you then. Have a great rest of your day!
Hugs,
Joani

Happy Friday!

I'm here, slow but sure. I think that I'm having some computer issues. I spent the morning with Dell and having them remotely go into my computer and work on it. It's still a bit slow, and they did not fix one problem that they needed to, so I'll have to do that again. I really don't mind them going in remotely ~ it sure beats having them on the phone telling me what to do and asking "what does it say now". That get's so confusing! So I might be back and forth sporadically til it's fixed.

But in the mean time, I have a couple of things to show you.I made some frapp bottles for a lady who buys from me at the Peddler's Mall. Her name is Amanda, and she's so sweet. She contacted me and wanted some cards so I made a few extra things for her to take a peek at ~ and she wanted the frapp bottles.

I used some of that Walmart paper again! Gotta love it. The image is from SU! Holiday Tag Team. I stamped it and colored it with my watercolors. I punched it out with my 1 1/4" punch and punched out a 1 3/8" circle of Chocolate Chip that it's mounted to. I adhered it to the bottle with my glue gun. I tied some ribbon at the top and used my tag punch (that I've had for years. You have to actually put it on the ground and step on it to punch!) and punched a piece of Chocolate Chip paper and a piece of the Walmart paper, I used my CAD to add a silver eyelet to it so the tags would not rip. The lid (sorry you cant see it) was done with my scallop circle punch, my 1 3/8" punch and my 1 1/4" punch. I think that she liked them, she bought 4 plus the carrier that I forgot to take a picture of.

Well, Amanda took the bottles to work and her friend would like to purchase 4 of them for her neighbors, also with the snowman theme. So here they are:They are pretty much similar, with different snowmen. I used the snowmen from Holiday Line up. I used the Walmart paper on these also. The tag was punched with my Marvy tag punch and I stamped the images from Holiday Tag Team. She did not want a carrier, so I did not decorate it ~ but I just gave it to her to easily carry the bottles.
Now these cards I made for Danielle to take to her teachers. We always do little things for her teachers each year and she wrapped the gifts the other day. Well, of course the cards had to match!

I stamped the image from TAC's Christmas Season set in blue shimmer ink and used clear EP to set it. I sponged Night of Navy ink around the edge of the panel and mounted that on to a piece of dark blue paper. The base card is Night of Navy layered with Ballet Blue and some Walmart paper that I also sponged the Night of Navy ink on. I ran the silver shimmer paper thru the CB and layered that on to a piece of dark blue paper as well. I added a length of organdy ribbon around the card and that was all. I thought that they turned out kinda nice.

Well, that's all I have for today. I hope to get some crafting done. We've got to take a trip out to my SIL's tomorrow and do some running around. So if I don't get back here ~ I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Let's try this again!

Good morning everyone! I really hope that blogger let's me post. I've been trying for a few days and all I keep getting is trouble. So keeping my fingers crossed that this works here I go. Here is a couple of cards that I made the other day.

As most of you know by now I'm a little out of sorts with the traditional Christmas colors. I get bored with the same old red and green - so that's where the brown came in.

I just love this set from SU! I think that it's adorable, it's called Holiday Lineup. They are all so goofy looking that they make me giggle. The base card is Riding Hood Red and it's layered with Chocolate Chip that I ran thru the CB. I added a couple of red brads on the left upper corner to break up the color a little, and a length of ribbon before I adhered that panel down. I colored the image with my watercolors and sponged some Old Olive ink around it before layering it to a piece of Kiwi Kiss cs. I then added that panel to a panel of DP from Marcella by K that was sponged with Kiwi Kiss and another piece of Riding Hood Red.

I think it turned out cute. Like I said those goofy looking reindeer are so adorable!

Here is another creation I've made that's not so goofy.

I think that the lighting is wrong on this one, it's hard to see - I'm sorry. A photographer I never claimed to be Ü

The base card is Baja Breeze that I layered with a piece of dark blue shimmer paper (that I've had forever) that I ran thru the cb. I added square brads to the outer corners to break up the dark color a little bit. The image panel from Ducks in a Row, and sentiment panel from The Rubber Cafe, were stamped with versamark and embossed with Judikins Aegean Silver EP on to Baja Breeze cs. I sponged around the outer edges with Brilliant Blue ink and layered it on to scraps of the dark blue shimmer paper and a piece of light grey shimmer paper. Like I said I'm sorry for the poor picture.

I know it's not much, but that's all I've got for today. I hope to get back in the swing tomorrow. If I can just get off the computer to craft - oh, you all know what that's like.

Have a great day!

2 Posts in one day? My goodness!

I guess you cant get rid of me that easy, this is my 2nd post for the day!! But there are just a few things that I need to show you other than a blog award, even though I'm proud of it!

The other day when I was blurfing I stopped by Stamp a little love and had seen what she made. My goodness, just in time too. I was needing to make something other than post it note holders for Christmas. I love doing the mini desk calendars, and I did some last year on coasters, remember? Well anyway, I saw these and they were perfect! Actually she got the idea from Nancy Littrell on SCS. Then another of her friends, Nancy Morgan posted the tutorial here. So please go give them all some love for these awesome calendars! Here's my spin on them.

I basically used random paper from Heidi Grace, Crate Paper and SU! Since I don't have the Top Note die from SU! I traced and hand cut those pieces. I used my square scallop punch and Mega scallop punch to cut out the images from A Tree for All Seasons. Then just random eyelets, buttons, primas, flowers and ribbon. The base card (the Chocolate Chip part) is cut 6 1/2" by 11. They are not small, but they are not too big either. I hope that you like them.

Everyone has their own way of doing things, so make sure that you check out the other blogs, and make sure that you tell them how great they are, because they really are!!!

Remember the cute Christmas planners that I did? I made one yesterday that looks just like a long card. I just attached the lists to the inside with brads and covered them with the card front. I am sorry, I neglected to get a photo of the inside, but you can go to Organized Christmas to find different print outs to customize your own.

Basically I just cut a piece of Ballet Blue cs to fit the planner inside. I think it was 3 1/2" wide by 7" long. I stamped the snowman from Ann-ticipations and colored what there was to color with watercolors. I used the paper I got from Walmart last year, some ribbon and a saying from an old foam D.O.T.S. set I had with Ballet Blue ink and that was it. To keep it closed I just added some of the DP from the pack and ribbon to a small binder clip and that was all. It's perfect size to slip in your purse. I always write things down at Christmas. What I get who and such. If I don't then I'd go way overboard or forget to buy something for someone.

Well, that's all for today. Please be sure to go and check out those other calendars and let them know how cool they are! I need to be off to create something else for you to look at. Hopefully I will be back tomorrow, but we've got some family things to do - so I can't promise.

If not, have a great weekend!

Lookie what I got!

My dear friend Marsha over at Stamping Down South has given me an award! It's the Kreative Blogger Award. Actually she had given it to me quite some time ago, but I was dealing with personal issues and had not got back to her. Marsha, I thank you ~ you are too kind.

Now the deets on the award:

Here are the rules: The winner may put the logo on their blog; put a link back to the person that sent you the award; nominate 5 blogs; put links to their blogs; leave a message for your nominee.

Sounds simple enough, except how do I nominate only 5 blogs when there are SO many!!! So here goes.
  1. Becca @ Amazing Paper Grace. She has such wonderful creations. They are always so pretty and elegant. She is a very talented paper crafter.
  2. Gabby @ Confessions of a Stamper. My dear friend Gabby has so much going on in her life at the moment, but when she does create is always with such talent and creativity.
  3. Mel @ Mel Stampz. Now if anyone is creative it is this woman. I swear she never sleeps with all the info she finds to pack her blog with! It's truly amazing.
  4. Linsey @ Outside the Lines. Linsey is always coming up with different projects. I think one of my favorites is her cupcake card, you've got to check that out!
  5. Tammy @ Dream, Create and Share. This is one blog that I recently, actually she recently found me. All of her projects are so creative ~ this is one to add to your list for sure!

The Internet can be such a wonderful place. And to have been blessed with so many new friendships makes me feel truly blessed. Please take a minute to stop in an check out what these "K"reative ladies are up to, I'm sure you'll be pleased.

Hugs,
Joani
