I'm baaaack!!

Hello everybody. I'm back! I first want to thank everyone who has sent me well wishes and cards. That was very kind of you. I'm still sad, but time does help a little.

I've been keeping my mind and hands busy with some Christmas cards. I have an idea of how many I want to send out, and I've made more than I need ~ I think. Before I show you some cards I want to show you a picture of what Danielle made in floral class. I took the picture and it was on my camera for a few days before I put it in the computer, so by the time I got to it the flowers died so I could not take another picture ~ I'm sorry for the fuzzy photo but you can still see it.

Danielle made this in her floral class. It's a real pumpkin that they cleaned out and put one of those floral oasis' in (the green foam). Then they added all the flowers. The pumpkin top is still attached too with a large bamboo skewer. I thought it was really nice.

I had known for a while that I needed to make some items for Ricky's niece. She asked me to make some things for her co-workers for Christmas. Like a dummy, I waited and put it off and did not feel like making them right away. I do that. I wait too long and have to do things at the last minute. It kinda worked out alright. His other niece was visiting so I finished them and gave them to her to take back, that way no one had to pay shipping.

These really did not take long to make. Since I do not have the Top Note die cut I happened to have one already done (Thank you again Mary Beth) and I just traced it and cut it out with Baja Breeze cs. I think I was a little crazy when I thought dots would look nice around the outer edge ~ I had to make 10 of them. Yes, I was seeing dots in my sleep that night!

I stamped the image from Holiday Lineup and colored them in with watercolors, inked the edges up with Ballet Blue ink and layered it on to a piece of Pink Piroquette paper. I wanted something under that and it hit me, I had some large ribbon I did not know what to do with ~ so I added it under the image panel.

For the back side I computer generated the saying and used my Marvy Giga Scallop Circle punch to punch out a piece of Riding Hood Red cs. I added the white dots (didn't I learn the first time???) with my white gel pen and added the saying on top of that. Except for the dots it is a quick project.

She also wanted a paint can for a friend of hers in the americana theme. Well, I pulled out my 4th of July stamps and shot off a can. Paint can's are really very quick to make. They look more intimidating than anything. But once I know what I want to do on the can it's a fast process.

The can is covered with DP from Creative Imaginations and Reminisce. I stamped the flag image from Darcies and colored it in with my watercolors. The bell image is from Printworks, that's also colored with watercolors. The "ribbon" on the lid was a stamp that I've had for a long while and it was not marked, so I'm not sure where that came from? I added various prima flowers and crystal brads here and there to hide the seam and I was finished.

Tomorrow I will show you some of the cards that I've made. Here is a sneek peek:

Sorry for the long post, but I have been gone a while.

I will see you all tomorrow!
Hugs,

Joani
