Woo Hoo!

I was blog hopping this morning and look at what I saw!!  It was over at Valerie's {stampin' gal val}.  Isn't it the cutest little thing you've seen??
It's the new scor-buddy.  It was unveiled at CHA.  It's adorable!!  Here's w hat she had to say about it:

Scor-Buddy

  • It's 9-1/8"L x 7-3/8" W; actual score bed is 7" x 7" (6-5/8" is the last width score line)
  • Score lines every 1/4" across the board
  • 1/8" scores on both the left (1" total) and right sides (7/8" total) of the board
  • The 4-1/4" score line (A2 card) now has an asterisk icon for easy reference
  • The gate fold dots (2-1/8" and 6-3/8") are still there
  • Half of the brochure fold (inverted triangle) is there (to complete a brochure fold just rotate the paper and score)
  • The right fence has been eliminated
  • Scor-tool snap in closure just like the big board
  • It will be packaged with a zipper case (not shown) for protection when traveling
I just love this little guy!  I think that I may need one, how about you??

I just had to show it off.  I will be back later with a card I made.

Just a card today

I don't have much to show you today ~ I made a card for Danielle's boyfriend.  She asked me to make a card for him for his birthday.  She's the one who can sit down and whip out a card in 15 minutes and it looks great.  Me, well it takes a tad bit longer than that (ok more than a tad - 1/2 a day!!).  And of course I wanted it to be nice because she is at this stage where she's kinda picky and if it was not right I'm sure that I would of had to put it in my stash and start over.

To be safe I asked her to pick out what she wanted on the card - and the colors.  I figured that way I could not get it too wrong, huh??

She picked out an image from Darcie's and the colors blue.  I had a hard time coloring the image because I wanted to do cute pinks ~ but it was for a guy, so I had to refrain.

The base card is Pacific Point and she wanted layered it with Bashful Blue.  So I found a cute piece of DP that had the blue stripes and it did not have a maker on it, so sorry.  I colored the image with my pencils and gamsol and a couple markers.  Then I used my stickles on it and let it dry overnight.  I cut the center out and made a shaker card.  The little confetti inside is blue, gold and silver birthday cakes.  The card actually measures 5 1/2" x 5 3/4".  I cut a half inch off of the right side of the card so I could use my cuttlebug to emboss the dots on the right side opening.  So, you think he'll like it??

Sorry this post is short today ~ but I've got things to do...  Appointments & such.  I'll be back tomorrow!

OH!  And don't forget to check out this post for the blog candy that Julie is giving away.  Have a great day!

How about another...

tutorial?  Some people asked me that they'd like to see more Valentines things - of course, it's a little over 2 weeks away.  So I thought that I'd show you this little tag card that I made.  I used my all time favorite paper ~ Bella Rose.  I so should of stocked up on a lot more of this, but I didn't...

So, here goes... And remember you can click on any picture and it will bring it up larger for you to see.  Just remember to hit the back button to come back to me Ü
This is what you will be needing to complete this project.
I've  taken a 5" x 10 1/2" piece of Pink Pirouette card stock that I scored at 3/12" and 7" inches.
I made little tag templates because I'm not very good at tags.  I took a piece of Riding Hood Red and traced 3 tags on to it.  Each one is 3 1/4" x 4 7/8" inches.  I then took a piece of designer paper - I used Bella Rose of course, and traced 3 tags on the back of the piece of paper that I wanted to use.
I then added my tape and adhered them to the piece of Pink Pirouette that is the base.
It should look like this now.
Now you will take a piece of matching card stock, here I used some of the Riding Hood Red that was left over, I ran it thru my cuttlebug with my Love Language embossing folder and then used my SU! scallop border punch to give the decorative top.  Apply tape and adhere to the bottom of the tag.  Each piece is 3 1/4" x 1 1/4" finished.

This is also where I forgot to cut out the little notches on the Pink Pirouette part to make them look like a tag.  You will notice it on the finished picture.
Now I'm sure that most of you paper crafters know this, but just in case you don't I'll mention it.  I'm going all the way back to grade school where I learned this tip.  Take a scrap piece of paper and fold it in half.  Then draw a 1/2 heart like I did in this picture by the arrow.  Cut it out and then unfold it and you should have the most perfect heart.  I did that here and then traced it on to the piece of Riding Hood Red card stock as shown here. Then cut that heart out.

I stamped the flowered heart from and old SU! set called Wreath of Roses on to a scrap paper and colored it with my markers.  I carefully cut it out and taped it to the front of the heart that I just made.
Flip the heart back over and add some foam tape or pop dots to it and adhere it to the center tag.
Next I stamped out the letters "I" and "U" with Real Red ink from my Technique Tuesday's Big Timber Line lowercase tall letters.  I cut that out at 1 5/8" x 3 1/8" and adhered that to a piece of Riding Hood Red that was cut out at 1 15/16" x 3 5/16" and adhered those to the 1st and 3rd tags.
Next you will accordion fold the little book together and take your crop a dile or other paper punch and make a hole at the top of the tag.  This is where we will add the ribbon to it.  Another tip I like to do is fold the pages together and punch the holes all at once.  This will make sure that your holes are all lined up in the same spot.  It might be a little hard to do if you do not have a CAD.
Next you will add your eyelets ~ I used the larger ones to this project.
We are almost done, hang in there!
See the little round "reinforcements" at the top of the picture.  Well, dummy me I forgot to add those to the card before I added the eyelets.  I like to add those to projects when I add an eyelet.  I feel that it adds some more stability to the card or project, especially if you add ribbon.  The paper does not tear as easily I feel.  To make these "custom" to match your project I simply take my 1/4" circle punch and punch a hole in your paper.  Then take the sheet of paper and use your 1/2" circle punch over it - it makes perfect reinforcements!

Anyway...  Now you will add your ribbon to the top.  I took a length of ribbon and put thru the eyelet front to back.  Then I took a little piece of the polka dot ribbon and tied a knot in it, just to make it a little different.
I then took my shimmer paint from SU! and used my stylus to add a little touch of it to the flowers on the heart.
oooh, see how pretty...
And the completed project.  You like??

I hope you do.  If you were brave to stick it out with me...  Since no one really guessed yesterday what this is - I'm sure it would of been hard to do - but the first person to leave me a message will get this.  Just leave me a message.  AND the first person to leave me a link on this message to their blog showing that they made one of these (and please link it back to me) will get one in the mail also!  So ~ let's see your creations.

Have a great day, and good luck!!

A little sneeky peeky...

Good morning everyone!  I hope that today finds you well.

This morning I got up and started to get hubby's lunch ready and I looked out the window and all I had seen was the dark morning.  Now even 15 minutes later hubby came down stairs and looked outside and the grass was completely covered!  The weather is so weird here - one minute nothing, the next who knows.

School was canceled today and Danielle is home - maybe I can get her to craft something?  That's if she can pry herself away from the TV and her phone.  Typical teenager.

So ya wanna see the sneek peek I've got for you today?  Can you guess what it is??  You will have to wait until tomorrow ~ sorry...

Let's see how many of you can guess...  The first person to guess it right will get it in the mail!!

Have a great day!

Ready, set, Tutorial!

Well, I'm ready.  Are you??  I am.  I've uploaded the PDF tutorial to my Scrib'd account.  You can view it here.  I also uploaded a Word document if that one is easier to read, view that one here.  Please tell me if there is a problem with it.  I've tried to look at it, but it looks kinda jumbled.  I don't know if it is me or what...

This is the actual wallet that I made for the tutorial.  Pretty, huh??  I hope that you enjoy it.  Leave me a comment and let me know!

Here's some pictures of the first one that I made.  I just thought I'd share those too.

This is the wallet with the goodies inside.  I made a couple of ATC's for it.

This is the inside with the goodies inside and the extra pieces of the die cuts that I did not use and had left over.  This can be used for all holidays or birthdays.  Even to add gift cards or pictures too!

I hope that you enjoy!  I'd love to see your creations ~ leave me a link and I'll check them out!

Have a great day!  I hope to be back tomorrow with another Valentines project that I've done!!

Happy Friday!

Good Morning or Good Afternoon depending on where you might be.  As I sit here and type I am looking out the window and it is a dreary, gloomy day so I hope that it is better wherever you may be.

Well yesterday I posted a little peek at what I've been up to.  You figure it out??  If you didn't then here it is to show you.

It's a little mini wallet.  I had seen one kind of like it over at Inking Idaho and she had already given it out and posted that she was not going to post directions.  I loved it so much so I sat down and played with some paper and this is what I came up with.  You like it??  I love it!!  And perfect time for Valentines day.

I will be making the tutorial up today and hope to have it posted for you tomorrow.

I also would like to take this time to ask you all what you'd like to see more of.  What tickles your fancy?  Cards, scrapping, digital scrapping, 3D items??  What could I do more of that would interest you?  I want to make sure that you all keep coming back and to do that I'd like to post what you like.  Just leave me a comment and let me know.

I am also thinking of changing my blog a little bit - so you might be seeing a few different things over the next week or so.  Don't worry, I'll still be here ~ I'm just letting you know that things may be a little different or wacky for a week.

This is all I have for you now.  Like I said I will be having a tutorial for you in the next day or two.  Have a super day!!

A little peek...

Can you guess what this is?  Betcha you can't.  I will be back tomorrow to show you what this is.  I'm also making a tutorial to show you how it's made.

See you tomorrow!!

Over the hump and on our way

On our way to Friday!!  For some reason I'm just beat this week.  Each morning the alarm goes off and I think "is it Friday yet?" and then reality sets in and I figure out it's not.  The weather's been a little gloomy here this week and I think that has a lot to do with a persons mood.

I did get some crafting done though ~ wanna see?

I made another one of the mini books.  I think that they are so darn cute, and so easy to make.  This one is a Valentine theme.  The image on the front here is from SU! Vintage Valentine set.  I used some DP from Cloud 9 and cs from SU! in Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red, Close to Cocoa and Pink Pirouette.  The hearts are from SU! too but I forgot the name of the set.  Some rub on's here and there, ribbon and punches and that was all.  The different paper is from my stash of Valentine papers that were scraps left over from last year ~ mostly from Cloud 9 and Heidi Grace.

It turned out cute, but it was not what I was looking for.  I think that I'll have to make another one and show you some directions.  That will be for another day.

I would also like to thank the people who left messages for me and contacted me about little Evan.  I would love to just flood his school with mail for him.  Come on people, we can do it.  Let's put a happy face on this little boy.

I will try to be back later with another post.  I hope that you all have a great afternoon!

A small favor, please...

I just wanted to post something and see if I can get everyone to do a small favor.  We are all card makers and paper crafters and we all make cards everyday.  Most of us make cards to send then there is some of us who make cards to just put in our stash to hold for the moment that we need a quick card.

There is a friend of mine who is a manager of a card making group I belong to and she has a good friend who has a grandson who is autistic and would like some cards sent out.  I don't think that I'm explaining this right so please just read on:

Evan is the grandson that is autistic and he has just been mainstreamed into the regular class so is trying very hard to blend in and make friends. Any cards would help him a great deal. The more from different states or areas or countries the better. If possible you could send postcards from the area you live. Just mention on the cards that you are a friend of his Grandma Froggy.  If he gets the most cards on the map he will win a prize. Thanks for your help, spread the word to anyone you know in other states or countries. Let's help this little guy win this and fit into his new school.

Send a postcard or Valentine to:  Evan Rupp c/o Mrs. Parvizi First Grade, Frederick Douglas Elem School, 100 Cedarmeade Ave, Winchester, VA 22601

Let's try to fill their mailbox with creations for this little guy.  Wouldn't it be nice to put a smile on a little boys face?  I would appreciate it and so would my friend.

Have a great day!

Cuppy cake time

I want to show you a little book that I made the other day.  There is instructions all over the internet for these, but I will post how I made one in the next day or so.

Here is a picture of the book looking down on it...

And from the front...

And the front...

It has little tags in it on each page, there is 8 of them.  This one went to Danielle, but I will make another.  And I know just the person who will want it too...

Sorry this post is short - I just wanted to show this little book to you!

Have a great day!!

How about some potpourri?

That's what I've got for you today - a big old bunch of everything...
I have to say that I am so very sorry for being gone as long as I have been.  I really did not think that it was that long.  Christmas.  Christmas was the last time that I had posted.  That's been almost a month!!  Where does the time go?

So are you ready for a little bit of this and that?  If you are grab your coffee or whatever you prefer, put your feet up and get ready...  here I go...

I was busy, really busy making Christmas cards.  I had quite a few to make ~ and I'd take the pictures of them I just did not post them.  So here are some of them that I made.  I know that Christmas is over, but maybe they will give you some inspiration and heck, maybe an idea for this upcoming Christmas.

So there are just some of the cards that I mailed out.  I also made some treat holders too!

Then of course I was busy with the puppy, Dixie.  She's grown so much and she's only 6 months old.  We had some snow days, of course after Christmas ~ and Danielle and Dixie were in the yard playing.  Yes, I had a sweater on Dixie.  It's cute.  This is taken just before we really got the snow.

I just could not get Dixie to look at the camera, she barely sat for Danielle to let me take the picture.  I wanted a little dog - and that's not going to happen - so I could cuddle and manage.  A little dog that would be a house dog.  NOPE.  Not Dixie, she loves it outside.  When we really got the snow she would go outside and bury her head in the snow and root around.   But I still love her.

Then Danielle was ever so kind to bring home some type of virus and she decided that she wanted to share it with us.  I got it first.  I was miserable.  It started off in my head and I was so stuffy, and the sinus headache was awful.  Then came the cough and sore throat.  So being the kind daughter I am I also shared it.  Mom got it next.  It is kinda scary when she gets sick because of her COPD and Asthma.  She got really sick.  And to top it off she was sick on her birthday.

For Christmas I got a cupcake cake pan.  I've wanted one for so long and I finally got one.  So I made Mom's' cake with it.  Now, this is the first one that I've ever made so the frosting job was not perfect - I almost did not share the picture.  But hey, everyone has to learn.  So I plan on making lots of these.  Another problem was how to cut it???  I had made a confetti cake on top and chocolate on the bottom.

And of course I had to make a cupcake card to go along with it!!

So that's what I've been up to.  How about you??  I've got something that I made last night to post tomorrow.  I've also been busy with some 3D items that I am making for an upcoming SCS shoe box swap that I'm in.  I'm not sure if I will post that too soon or not-I can't give away the suprise...
I'm in hopes that I'm back now.  I hope that I didn't scare you off with the long post - but I hope that it will give you some inspiration.  So I will see you tomorrow!!  Have a great day!
