Happy Earth Day everyone! What are you doing to celebrate Earth day? We all should really take time to help out our Mother Earth. If we all do a little something each day it all adds up.
I'm very sorry that I've been a bad blogger lately. With Danielle and the prom, I was tied up a bit. I'm sure that anyone who has or had a teenage girl would understand that. And then I had a few things to do, then there was some doctor appointments. But now that is all behind me and I'm on a mission to make some Mother's day cards. Last night I sat down and made out my list. Yikes! I've got almost 30 people that I want to send cards to. I better get to work, huh? There is just so many ladies out there that have touched my life that I want to show appreciation to. That's not so bad, is it?
I do want to show you a card that I made that I was kinda proud of. I made one like it a while back and this one is similar, just different *Ü*The base card is Pink Pirouette and I layered it with Certainly Celery, Rose Red, Old Olive and the Bella Rose DP (I so need to stock up on that. I love love love that paper!!). I stamped the sentiment and the K from the Just K set. I used my large and mega scallop oval Marvy punches and used my white gel pen for the dots. I also used my large and mega scallop square punches for the sentiment and the K. I sponged some Regal Rose ink around those panels before I layered them. Some of the Purely Pomegranate ribbon was also added to the card.
I think that it turned out nice. Kinda "spring-y" don't you think?
I signed up for a swap and I needed to make some birthday cards for a man, that was the theme. Now I know that we all need man cards once in a while. And for some reason they are very hard to make. Not hard to make, just hard to come up with ideas for. At least that's my opinion. With all the cute, pretty or feminine paper out there how are we supposed to make man cards? Well I did it.
The base card is Chocolate Chip and it is layered with Basic Black and DP from TAC's Rustic Chic collection. I stamped the horseshoes on the front with Chocolate Chip ink. I then stamped the horse in Chocolate Chip ink and used my pencils and gamsol to color it in. I used my nestabilities scallop oval small to cut out the horse then sponged Basic Black ink around that layer. I then cut out the next size nestie for the Basic Black layer behind it.
I took a piece of the Rustic Chic DP and layered it on to a piece of Basic Black and adhered it to the card. I punched out the Basic Black circle with my Marvy giga punch and stamped the Happy Birthday from my TAC gift with purchase stamps with white ink. I took a piece of Basic Black and layered it behind the birthday oval, I thought it gave it some extra "oompf". For the inside I just took a piece of white cs and stamped the horseshoes with Chocolate Chip ink and I was complete.
Nice man card, huh?
Well I'm off. I need to get to work on those Mother's Day cards.
I hope that you all have a great day!
