I'd like to show you a couple of Easter cards that I've made this year. I did not make as many as I'd like to because as you know I was busy with other things ~ but I did get to make enough to send to the people on "my list". These are special people who I'm always sending cards to for one reason or another over the years. Heck, I used to send cards out for Groundhog day. Now that's just crazy isn't it? But I am a paper crafter, card maker first and it is an addiction as all of you well know.
So here are the cards that I made. I'm sorry if I don't have a list of the actual supplies - I was in a frenzy and unless I know what I used from heart I didn't write it down to remember, sorry.
I can tell you that the images I've used on these cards are all from SU! the A Good Egg set. I love that little chick and it's a must to pull out every Easter. The base card is Almost Amethyst and the DP is also from SU! but I forget which collection.
Like him? He is just the cutest thing, don't you think?? I stamped and colored him in with my YoYo Yellow and Only Orange markers and then stamped him again and stamped the flowers and dots over the egg part and colored it in. I then cut out the egg portion and paper pieced it on to the chick. I cut the image out with my nesties. I stamped the flowers and dots out and colored them in with my markers and cut it out with my oval nestie and cut out a corresponding scallop oval nestie to place it on. Kinda looks like an egg huh? After it was placed on the card I used stickles to give it some sparkle.
See it up close? Pretty huh?
For my next card I had got the idea on SCS to make a flower pot card, just with eggs.
Tell me this is not adorable. I actually took my little sewing machine that I got for a steal (did I tell you about that?) and stitched the sides of the flower pot closed. I like that so the inside piece does not slip out each side. I made the flower pot a little larger than the normal ones, and the inside pull out a little larger too because of the eggs on top. While I was working on it I had an A2 envie handy and I'd lay the card down on top of it as I was putting it together to make sure that it would fit in it when I was done.
There have been times that I've made a card, got carried away and then it does not fit in the envelope. Trust me, there is nothing worse. Then you have to go and make an envelope to fit the card into. I don't mind making envies, it's just a pain.
Whoops, I got off topic - choo choo the train derailed... he he he...
But if you look to the lower right in the picture that is the insert for the card. I stamped the large egg shape from A Good Egg on to 3 different colors of card stock and cut close to the edge of the stamp. I layered then on to the insert (while I had it layed on top of the envelope) all kind of offset from each other. Then I took the chick images and adhered them with pop dots to give a 3D look. Really easy and super cute!
That's all I've got for you today. I hope that it gives you some inspiration to go and make that last Easter card for this year. Have a great weekend and Happy Easter everyone.
