Time well spent with a friend
Now, if your still with me ~ on to the card :0)
I used the set Time Well Spent. I just love that set! The base card is Old Olive. I layered it with some DP that I received from a RAK. Then I made another 2 1/2" piece of Purely Pomegranate, Old Olive and another piece of the DP and tied the ribbon around it. I had water colored the flowers and layered them on to the card, some with pop dots for the 3D effect and gave it some sparkle with stickles. I then used the word Friend from For a Friend and stamped that in Rose Red on to a piece of white cs. Above that I stamped "thanks so much" from my Michael's $1.00 stamps in Positively Pink ink. I sponged some Rose Red around that and layered it on to some Old Olive and Purely Pomegranate cs. I also added some stickles to the dots under the word friend for a pop!
I sure hope that she likes it!! It's one of my favorite sets. Come back tomorrow to see what she gave me - and a chance to see what I will be giving away for my very 1st blog candy!!!

A good egg & the chocolate bunny!
I needed a couple more cards and popped these out real quick. I was trying to think of what I'd put in an Easter basket for this card. When I met my ex-hubby he had 2 little ones. Easter came around and he wanted to go "buy" an Easter basket! **Gasp!!** Are you kidding me I said to him, no we make it! My parents always made up my basket, they never bought one! So, of course that's what I've always done. Buy the basket and all the goodies then put it together the night before for the kids to wake up to in the morning. Even to this day my DD will be almost 16 and she still get's a basket and DH and Mom get a chocolate bunny!! That's how it's done!
Ok, enough babble. I get side tracked so easy. I was saying "what do you put in a basket?" Well, of course the eggs, a chocolate bunny & those jelly beans in the bags that look like carrots!
I stamped my egg from A good Egg in Pink Passion and filled it in with Gable Green and Yo Yo Yellow then sponged around the image with Pink Passion ink. I stamped the bunny from Whipper Snapper and colored him in with pencils. I put some pink fun flock on his ears and tail for fun and sponged Close to Cocoa ink around that panel. I colored the carrot image, also from Whipper Snapper direct to the rubber with Gable Green and Only Orange. I layered the egg and bunny on a piece of yellow orange paper, same as the base card and the carrot on Pink Passion paper. Those were adhered to a piece of green polka dot paper. I finished with some stickles on the egg for a *punch* of color and I was done.
Tomorrow I've got more to show, and I promise it is not holiday related!! Have a great day!!

Birthday MooMoo!?
A very dear and special friend (who I hope is not reading this) is having a birthday next week and I needed to make a card for her. She knows better than anyone how twisted I am, so she will like it I'm sure!
The main card is Pink Passion. I stamped the image from the Birthday Banter set and colored it with pencils. I used my SU markers for the flowers though. I sponged Green Galore ink around the panel and layered that on to a piece of Pink Passion cs. I also stamped the saying in Pink Passion ink and layered that on to a piece of Pink Passion cs after I sponged Pink Passion ink all over that panel.
The DP layered on the card is from Creative Imaginations. I thought that the flowers on the DP went well with the flowers on the cow. I layed down 1 piece of that and tied a purple length of ribbon around the 2nd panel before adhering. I adhered the main images and made a photo corner with the scraps, added a button and some stickles and I was done! Then it was off to mail it went!
More cards to come tomorrow!!
OH and guess what? I'm finally taking the plunge ~ I'm becoming a demo for The Angel Company. I am waiting til the 1st to sign up, if I do then I will be getting another $50.00 in stamps of my choice! I'm so excited, it's something that I've always wanted to do but never did. Now I am taking the plunge! Wish me luck everyone!!

My new banner that I'm proud of!!
Another Good Egg
Another card down, many more to go!!!
This card I made using the set A Good Egg. I just love everything about this set!!
The base card is Chocolate Chip which I layered with Mint Melody and SP from The Paper Patch. I bought lots of that in California and have used it for years. I'm sorry I've tried to pull them up online and can't seem to find them!
I stamped the images and colored them with - yes, MARKERS. Can you beleive it? The little chick I stamped again on yellow and paper pieced him. I then sponged YoYo Yellow around the egg and Mint Melody around the chick. I layered them on to YoYo Yellow and Mint Melody papers. I took my gel pen and made the doodles around the two panels after I mounted them to the cards. I know that I am missing something in the top corner, but I've got to find a small Easter saying in my stash someplace.
And how are You doing on your Easter cards?

Arrgh!!
Don't worry about us and the storm. We are actually fine. We are sitting put and not driving. Even though Mom had a doctor appointment today we cancelled it. The weather was fine but by the time I would of had to go pick up hubby from work it was awful! What normally takes about 10 to 15 minutes (depending on traffic) took him almost a 1/2 hour. The roads are so full of ice it's awful!!! There is lot's of accidents out there today. As a matter of fact Toyota shut the plant down for 2nd shift. I can't believe that! Of course Danielle is keeping her fingers crossed that she wont have school tomorrow ~ we'll see!!
I'm giving up for tonight ~ but I will try back tomorrow and try again. Keep safe and warm everyone!
Hugs ~ Joani

Boatloads of cake??
This card I made for a dear friend who's birthday is coming up. I wanted something different, and I think I did it. Who would ever think of a cake in a boat? Crazy me, that's for sure!!!
For this card I used my "special" paper from The Paper Palette. It's called Tsumugi paper. I have few sheet's left that I bought at a show when I lived in California. Oh, I can still get it on line (I buy my tape from them. The ONLY tape I use and will ever use) so I can still get it.
The base card is Royal purple and it's layered with Magenta and a piece of Dark Purple. I stamped the boats from Boatloads of Love and the cake is from Voila! I colored them in with my pencils and gamsol. I added some stickles to make it sparkle a bit. I then stamped the saying from Simple Sayings II in Lovely Lilac ink and I was done. Just in time, I have to get it to the mailbox today!!!

Boy what a day..........
I'm so behind on making my St. Patrick's day cards. Considering that Easter is just over a week away after that! So I went into mass production mode :)
The main image on this card is from Whipper Snapper. I stamped him and colored him with pencils and gamsol. I sponged the edges with Green Galore ink and mounted that on to a piece of Basic Black cs.
The card base is Green Galore. I too a piece of Basic Black and adhered a piece of BG paper from the Paper Patch. I then tied a length of green ribbon around it before I placed it on the card. The sentiment is from DOTS (yes, it's a very old stamp. One of my first) that I stamped in Green Galore and layered on to a piece of Basic Black also. I stamped the shamrocks over the top of it in Gable Green. That stamp is from a set by My Sentiments Exactly.
This card was inspired by SCS Koopdedoo. I saw her card, and with the twisted humor I have I HAD to make one!!!
The bra stamp is from Ann-ticipations. I've had it for a few years, and really don't remember why I bought it. But with my humor it does not suprise me!!
The main card is some green cs I have. I adhered a piece of dark green and then a piece of green plaid paper also from the Paper Patch. The image is colored in with pencils and gamsol. I added a little flower and brad to the center to add some "cute" to the card. The saying is from Whipper Snapper stamped in Green Galore. It is also layered on to a piece of dark green.
The saying Erin-go-Bra was generated on my computer and layered on to a piece of dark green also. You must go to SCS and check out Kathy's Gallery, I'm sure you'll enjoy it!!
This was a quick card. The base of the card is Old Olive. I cut a piece of dark green and layered a piece of the green polka dot paper to it, then tired the knot around it before adding it to the card. I then stamped the word "happy" above the panel with my stamp-a-ma-jig and the words St. Patrick's day below also with my stamp-a-ma-jig. I then placed the image on a piece of dark green ~ after coloring it with my pencils ~ and layered that to the card with pop dots.
Both saying and image are from Whipper Snapper.
I left these cards for last. I joined Gabby's swap on SCS (yes, my first and I'm nervous!!) Bra and Panties swap. Well, I needed to "practice" before I made the actual cards. I had already made hubby's card for Valentines, but it was a little more serious ~ so I thought that I'd make these for fun. Two birds, one stone-right?
Well, they are totally easy. Now, little story "behind" the panties. My DD likes to wear thongs. Yes, it's hard to say that your teenager likes that - it means that she's growing up. And another yes to hubby always saying NO when she wants them (but little does he know she gets them anyway). Well, of course being the teenager that she is teases me because she calls my undies "granny panties". No, let's get this straight first of all, they are not granny panties. I've got at least 20 (give or take a few) years before that sets in. But anything to my DD that is more than lets say a string is a granny panty. So, that brings me to the card. I had to make the panties a little more "realistic" let's say. I had originally wanted to stamp the "tattoo" a cool Harley Davidson emblem I have, but the darn panties were too big to stamp that image ~ so I went with the lips! ha ha ha.... The paper is from the EK Success Harley Davidson papers so I was 1/2 way there. And when you think of HD you think "tough" so I thought ok, this pattern will work. I then added the "elastic" which is Rick Rak I purchased at Walmart.
Well, I hope that you enjoyed today's LONG post. I hope to chat more tomorrow ~ see you then.

Happy RAK day to me, Happy RAK day to me...
Valentine A-Pal-ooza!!
For his card I used a mish-mash of stamps. I thought that it should be a little more "romantic" that the Happy Heart Day set. So, here goes...

Without you....
Anyway, on to the card.
I had to make a card for my group's swap "things that move you" and I thought of this cute little bicycle. It is a SU! image, but I received it in a lot of stamps from EBay that I won so I'm not sure what set it came from.
The base card is Pumpkin Pie. I colored directly on the stamp with my SU! markers then stamped the image onto white cs.
With the exception of the base card, the rest of the paper is from my Creating Keepsakes Power Pad slab that I bought from Big Lots! I so scored on that. Anyway, I used all the funky colors. I thought that it reminded me of spring. The sentiment is from Ann-ticipations. It says "Without you I'm one wheel short of a bicycle". I then added some Primas to the upper corner of the bicycle image. I always want to use those, but forget.
Well enough of my babble for today. I hope that you enjoy the card ~ and hope today finds you all well!!

Hoppy Easter
I made this card yesterday, it was a quickie! I had an Easter swap card that I had to make and I think this is it. Of course I've got to get to work on my St. Paddy's day and Easter cards to mail! It's closer thank I think!!
The base of this card is So Saffron. I then layered a piece of Summer Sun and then the green polka dotted paper. I for the life of me can not remember who makes all my polka dotted paper!
I stamped the image from CTMH and colored it in with pencils and gamsol ~ I then accented some of the flowers with my SU! markers. I layered that on to a piece of Pixie Pink. But before I did so I punched a line of scallops out with my slit punch from SU! and glued that under the white image panel that I sponged with Pink Passion ink.
I finished it off with a length of ribbon and I was done. I should be posting more tomorrow morning ~ hope to see you all then!

Been off for a bit....
I have a swap going on at my MSN site and it's for St. Patricks Day. Can you believe that it is only 39 days away ~ and Easter is 45 days away!!! It's actually going to be here before we know it! So I've started in on my St. Patricks day and Easter cards. With both holidays being just over a week apart, I need to get to work. On any given holiday I sent out at least 25 cards - not to mention the birthdays in between. Which reminds me, I've got a BIL I need to get a card in the mail for!!! Oooooh, I better get to work!
For this card I used the Darcies frame image. Darcie's was a big thing when I was on the west coast. They were at all the stamp shows, and you could hardly get to their booth there was so many people. My DD was one of them. She has quite a few of their images. And yes, this is another of her's that I used. So, I stamped it and colored it in with markers and pencils. (Got to get the pencils in there someplace!) I cut the center of the frame out and covered it with acetate to make the shaker.
The base card is Glorious Green. I covered it with Certainly Celery and added the DP from The Paper Patch on top. That paper I've had for years! When I saw it I bought most all they had.
After I added the shamrock confetti to the frame I covered that with a piece of DP from Paper Adventures. Yes, this I also "borrowed" from my DD. Once again years ago I bought her paper at the LSS. They had all different types of cereals on the paper, this one of course has the lucky charms. I then glued that to the card and I was done. Shaker cards are really quite easy to do, and I thought that this would be cute for St. Patricks Day!

For the love of chocolate
This card was basically simple. Well, first I had to steal my DD's DP. She hoards it and she never makes cards anymore! So, I'll have to get this in the mail before she see's it!!!
The DP is from Frances Meyer. I know that she got it a long time ago at the LSS in California. I so miss that store! The card base is Chocolate Chip. I layered the DP on to the card and made another panel smaller to fit on the card ~ and layered that on to Pixie Pink and Chocolate Chip. The stamp is from Embossing Arts that I got some 10 years ago.
I stamped the images of chocolates on to a piece of beige CS and colored it in with pencils. I stamped the saying (it's all one stamp that I split) on beige CS also and layered those on to Pixie Pink and Chocolate Chip also. These were two quick and easy cards. I am thinking of putting some glitter on it someplace to make it stand out, but I'm not sure.
Hope you all have a great day!

Time well spent
This card I just love because of all the bright colors! It's been kind of dreary, glomy here lately. Actually yesterday was the first beautiful day we've had in a while! The sun was shining and it was nice enough out to just have on a sweatshirt. Well enough of that! On to the card.
The first card I used Old Olive for the card base. I layered on a piece of yellow polka dot paper (once again ~ I've had it for years and bought it at a show and cant remember who I bought it from!) I then stamped the flowers using a masking technique. I colored them in with my watercolor pencils and my aqua painter. When I use my aqua painter I found that the easiest way (and it's just the way I do it ~ there may be an easier way that you can find) is not to put the pencils to the paper, but to touch the aqua painter to the pencil then color with that. I do keep a paper towel close by to blot the paper if too much water gets on it. Once I was done with the flowers and butterfly I did the saying. I placed the flowers on the paper and layered the sentiment to a piece of Old Olive and Pink Passion paper. Once all the pieces were layered and aheared I used some stickles on the flowers and butterfly just to add some sparkle.
On this card I only used one of the flowers from Time Well Spent. I actually stamped it 3 times. The first time I stamped it and colored the outer edge of the flower. Then on the 2nd image I colored the inner part of the flower, and for the 3rd image I colored the center of the flower. I added a brad in the center of the flower.
I attached them all together with pop dots to give it a little more dimension.
I actually started this card backwards. I stamped, colored and cut the flower then I thought what to do with it?? So I looked thru the gallery at SCS and had seen the sketch challenge 161 that I had not participated in yet. Now, I'm not sure that this is just like the sketch, it may look a little different ~ but it's my try.
I took a piece of Orchid Oppulence for the base card. I layered it with that polka dot paper. For the sketch card I added a piece of purple polka dotted paper that I sponged and then layered the last panel that was Gable Green with a piece of DP that I received in a RAK. (I would really like to have all my paper sorted - but 1/2 of it I don't know who it's made by?!)
I hope that these cards inspire you to come up with something creative! I'd love to see!

Gabby's One of a Kind
My dear friends birthday is on the 2nd and I made this card to send to her. I used my new set One of a Kind.
The base card is Chocolate Chip. Is this a new fad or am I just seeing a lot of Browns lately?
I layered it with paper from my Creating Keepsakes slab (that I scored on from BIG LOTS! It was only $6.00!!!) and placed a HUGE flower from Heidi Swapp that I sponged on Rose Red ink on to. I first punched a scallop circle with my Marvy Giga Scallop punch and used the colozzle to make the circle with out of the dotted paper.
I stamped the flower from One of a Kind 3 times with Rose Red ink all on different paper from the slab. I carefully cut each layer and placed one on top of the other with pop dots. I then placed that on top of the flower. In the middle of the flower I took a button (she loves buttons!) and threaded some waxy floss thru it then glued it to the center of the flowers.
I stamped the saying with Chocolate Chip and Rose Red ink on to some scraps. I placed that in the lower right corner. It was fairly easy to make, it just involved a bit of cutting.
What I didn't tell you was I messed up on the cutting and actually had made 2 other flowers that I cut out and just did not like. But all in all once I was done I knew that she'd like it. Hope you do too!
