Good Monday Morning

Good morning every body.  I hope that this weekend was wonderful for you all.  It was just beautiful here!  We actually had a BBQ Saturday it was so nice.  It's supposed to be in the low 60's this week ~ and I'm ready for it.  Although it's supposed to rain too.

Have you been working on your St. Patrick day cards?  I've started some.  I have been looking everywhere for some St. Patrick's digi stamps.  I did what I always do every year and wait too long to get new stamps for the holiday I'm working on.  I waited and there was no time to buy some, have them shipped to me and make the cards so I wanted to work with some digi stamps.  I did find a few out there.  The card I'm going to show you was made with some digi's from Pink Cat Studio.

Now, I've not worked with digi images before so I was not sure how they would turn out - but I think it looks fine.
The image is from Pink Cat Studio and the sentiment is from Whipper Snapper.  In my confetti drawer I had these shamrock coins and I used a large glue spot to adhere it to the card.  You really can't see it in the picture (although you can click on the picture to make it larger) but I used my sakura gel pen on the coins on the image and the sentiment panel for a little bling...

I know this post is short and sweet - but I'm off to create some more and I just wanted to show you these pictures to give you some inspiration.  I hope it worked.

And if you know of any digi sites that have some great images leave me a message and let me know.  I'm really new to the digi image thing and I'd love to see what more is out there!!

Have a super great day!

Ready for the peek?

Yesterday I showed you a little peek at what I've made. Ready to see it?

Ok, first let's show you a card - maybe two....

Yesterday I made my last St. Patrick's day card for this year. I love to make cards for all holidays! I used to actually make them for groundhog day also - but I got rid of that stamp. But for some reason I'm not into St. Patrick's day this year. Hmmm, I don't know why? I'm married to an Irishman. I guess I'm just not feeling it. And I think that it shows in my cards.

Yes, this is my LAST card for St. Patrick's day. Promise. Most of the paper was pulled out of my scrap drawer. I have two 12" x 12" drawers that are dedicated to just scraps. Some of them have the company name on them and some don't. Of course, these don't.
My base card is Glorious Green. I layered it with a piece of this dark green shimmer paper and the polka dot paper. Then I added another layer of dark green shimmer paper with a layer of shamrock paper. I added a length of ribbon and the little leprechaun from Whipper Snapper that I colored with my watercolors. I did add some white dots around the image with my gel pen. And if you look in the bottom right corner you will see 3 baubles. I just got those, they are from The Robins Nest and I love them!

For the inside I stamped the image, also from Whipper Snapper, and just went over the lettering with my markers. I added a piece of Basic Black under the white and added a strip of the shamrock paper to the top of the white panel.

Remember me showing you the new set's I got from The Angel Company? Well, here's a card that I made with one of them.
This is made from the Everything is Blooming T3050 set. I just love that little girl, she's adorable!
The base card is So Saffron. I layered it with a piece of Kiwi Kiss and Summer Sun. The DP is also from TAC it's from the Brighten my Day collection. I just cut 3 small strips to layer on the card and added some ribbon before securing it down. I stamped the image and colored her in with my watercolors. I sponged some Pink Passion ink around the layer and adhered it to a piece of Pretty in Pink and Pixie Pink cs. I added a Bitty Blossom and brad to the lower left hand corner and I was complete.
Ok, yesterday I showed you a sneek of what I made, well here it is.

You can say that I was a late bloomer when it came to getting a cuttlebug. Being a one income family I try to choose things that I need carefully. But thanks to Mrs. Betty I could not live without this, so at Christmas Mom bought one for us. It was our crafting Christmas present. And yes, I've since HAD to purchase some nestabilities! Ok, 6 of them. But it was a MUST, really. It's actually a sickness. I can't help myself sometimes.....

So the other day I thought I'd make a book of the nesties that I have now. And since HSN was kind enough to send me an email telling me that March was National Craft month I thought that I would do my part to boost the economy Ü

I made my covers from some thin chipboard with my Bind it All. I covered them with paper from TAC's Catelynne collection (which is my FAVORITE!), some ribbon, buttons, and a chipboard piece from American Crafts. If you look close you can see that I sprayed the cover with some shimmer mist for a little glow. I also used my Labels 2 nestie to cut some paper for the cover.

Now on the inside I've got all the negatives labeled with each family. This way I can see which size will fit with which stamp. I have also started to write down which one fits with which for now, at least til I get more sets. Um, I mean, uh, well you know what I mean..... (Just in case hubby's reading Ü)

Well, did you like today's post? I hope to have something special for tomorrow. Tired of having your stickles not flow just right? I have a great idea of storing them ~ I just need to acquire the help of my hubby and I'll show you.

Have a great day!
Hugs,

Joani

Happy Friday! Woo-Hoo!!

Yippie! It's Friday. I just love when the weekend comes. Saturday is sleep in day and hubby gets up and cooks breakfast. He makes the most yummiest potatoes!! Love love love them!! But I can say that he is the messiest cook too! When he gets done in the kitchen it looks like a cyclone hit it!! But it is well worth the mess.
I've not got much to show you today. Just one lonely card. I'm working on a swap that is going on over at PCP and there are quite a few cards that I have to do for that. And of course I get going and add this to the card, and do that to it. And before you know it, it weighs a ton! But that's fine because it's Easter themed and I'm ready to make some spring cards.
So here we go!!

First I must say do not look at the stitching! I think that I have a bum machine. Pretty much ever since I got the machine it does what it wants to do. I've only used it for actual material a few times ~ and I did use a different needle. But each time I use it either the bobbin gobbs up the thread on the bottom or the needle thread breaks or the stitching spaces itself too close together then far apart then normal or this or that..... It is so irritating. Of course I had high hopes for this card and when the machine started acting up I pretty much did not care. Kinda sad, but I just gave up.....

The base card is Dark Green. I layered it with another piece of green that I ran thru the CB with the Swiss Dots folder then a scrap of Glorious Green that I had left from another project that I embossed gold clovers from MSX on and lastly a piece of DP (that does not have a name on it). I stitched all those together and adhered it to the card. I got out my Butterfly Swirls set and stamped the swirl with Glorious Green in on the CB piece. I stamped the little leprechaun from Whipper Snapper and colored him in with my watercolors, cut him out and used a pop dot to adhere to the card. Like I said, nothing fancy, my bubble was popped with the sewing machine incident.

I hope to get something done today to show you. If not because it's the weekend I will be back Monday. This weekend we are supposed to go to my SIL's - like we do each weekend - and I'm not sure what's up. They say it is supposed to snow. SNOW! It's almost March. Crazy Kentucky weather - if you don't like it wait 5 minutes and it will change, so they say.

Have a great day!
Hugs,

Good Morning!!

Good Morning Everybody!

I hope today finds you all well. I am popping in to give you a peek at what I've been up to. I don't know but I've been a little out of sorts. I guess I've got the dauber downs. Yesterday I just did not feel like crafting. **GASP!** Did I say that? Yeah, I guess I did.

I don't know if it's the weird weather or what, but yesterday I sat down to create. I had all good intentions on doing it. I sat at the table and just looked around at my stuff and nothing came to me. I was just sitting there and no ideas popped into my head ~ nothing. So what I have is not all that creative. Maybe today something will spark my creativity.

I am in a sentiment swap over on my card group and I needed to make a card for that and I immediately thought of this stamp. This was one of my first stamps that I had purchased and it is from D.O.T.S. - that's what Close to My Heart was before it was CTMH. There is something about this stamp that just makes me smile.

I stamped the image in Real Red on to white cs and sponged some Real Red ink around the panel. I layered that on to a piece of Pink Pirouette that you can see I made a border with on my scor-pal. The base card is Real Red and I made the grid pattern with my scor-pal also and at each peak I used my white gel pen and added a dot to it. I took a piece of Blush Blossom paper and punched the scallop edge with my SU! border punch, added a length of ribbon and attached that to the card. I added the image panel and I was complete.

Nothing too terribly hard, just a simple sentiment card.

I'm in another swap for St. Patrick's Day and this is what came to me. I've always been one to send out cards for every holiday - I used to have a stamp for Ground Hog Day also - but I've slowed down over the years. But this is the first St. Patrick's card I've made this year.

The base card is a dark green cs I've had for a long time. I stamped the shamrock images from My Sentiments Exactly on to a piece of white cs and layered that on to a piece of green checkered paper and a piece of Glorious Green. Before laying it down on the card I added a length of white organdy ribbon. I love that ribbon because it does not bulk up a card too much when you mail it out. The leprechaun is from Whipper Snapper. I stamped him and colored him in with my watercolors. I punched it out with my Marvy oval punch and matted it on to a piece of Glorious Green cs and I was done! Not too complicated, thank goodness because I was not in a complicated mood.

Today I will try to create something worthy of stopping in on your blog hopping journey!

Have a great day!
Hugs,

Joani

Happy St. Patrick's Day

First of all I would like to wish everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day! I hope that today brings you all good fortune and many friendships!

I would like to share a little card that I made over the weekend. I pulled out one of my new TAC™ stamp sets out, Party Time. I just love this little set.

When I first started to pick out the colors for this card I thought of something spring like, and I pulled out my new papers from TAC™ too!! I used the orange flower background paper from the Brighten my Day collection.

The main base of the card is Only Orange. I then layered the orange DP next that I sponged with Chocolate Chip ink, used my corner rounder punch on the corners and adhered it to the card. I stamped the little ladybug from the Party Time set and colored it in with pencils. I punched him out with my 1 1/4" circle punch and sponged it with Only Orange ink. I then punched out a piece of Pumpkin Pie cs with my 1 3/8" circle punch, then a piece of Only Orange cs with my Scallop Punch and finally a piece of Chocolate Chip with my Mega Scallop punch. I layered those all together and adhered it to the card front.

I wanted to use my word window punch to punch out the saying but the saying was a little too long. So I stamped the saying on to a piece of white cs and measured how long it was. I then punched out 2 word windows and taped them together to make the length of the saying. I then traced around them and carefully cut them out with my scissors to make the window longer. I know it seems like a little extra work ~ but when the punch does not fit, you improvise :)

I added a couple of eyelets with my Crop-a-dile and threaded some Pumpkin Pie ribbon thru the holes in the eyelets, adhered it to the card and I was finished.

This is a step-by-step instruction on how I made my Word Window Punch a little longer. If it is too hard to read, just click on the picture for a better look :0)

I would also like to thank everyone who participated in my blog candy contest. You all made some great cards, but unfortunately there can only be one winner. The winner was picked thru Random.org and it was Linsey from Outside the Lines with Linsey. Linsey, please e-mail me your snail mail info so I can get your goodies out to you!! Thank you all once again!!

I hope you all have a safe and happy St. Patrick's Day ~ there will be more to come tomorrow!

Boy what a day..........

I'm so behind on making my St. Patrick's day cards. Considering that Easter is just over a week away after that! So I went into mass production mode :)

The main image on this card is from Whipper Snapper. I stamped him and colored him with pencils and gamsol. I sponged the edges with Green Galore ink and mounted that on to a piece of Basic Black cs.

The card base is Green Galore. I too a piece of Basic Black and adhered a piece of BG paper from the Paper Patch. I then tied a length of green ribbon around it before I placed it on the card. The sentiment is from DOTS (yes, it's a very old stamp. One of my first) that I stamped in Green Galore and layered on to a piece of Basic Black also. I stamped the shamrocks over the top of it in Gable Green. That stamp is from a set by My Sentiments Exactly.

This card was inspired by SCS Koopdedoo. I saw her card, and with the twisted humor I have I HAD to make one!!!

The bra stamp is from Ann-ticipations. I've had it for a few years, and really don't remember why I bought it. But with my humor it does not suprise me!!

The main card is some green cs I have. I adhered a piece of dark green and then a piece of green plaid paper also from the Paper Patch. The image is colored in with pencils and gamsol. I added a little flower and brad to the center to add some "cute" to the card. The saying is from Whipper Snapper stamped in Green Galore. It is also layered on to a piece of dark green.

The saying Erin-go-Bra was generated on my computer and layered on to a piece of dark green also. You must go to SCS and check out Kathy's Gallery, I'm sure you'll enjoy it!!

This was a quick card. The base of the card is Old Olive. I cut a piece of dark green and layered a piece of the green polka dot paper to it, then tired the knot around it before adding it to the card. I then stamped the word "happy" above the panel with my stamp-a-ma-jig and the words St. Patrick's day below also with my stamp-a-ma-jig. I then placed the image on a piece of dark green ~ after coloring it with my pencils ~ and layered that to the card with pop dots.

Both saying and image are from Whipper Snapper.

I left these cards for last. I joined Gabby's swap on SCS (yes, my first and I'm nervous!!) Bra and Panties swap. Well, I needed to "practice" before I made the actual cards. I had already made hubby's card for Valentines, but it was a little more serious ~ so I thought that I'd make these for fun. Two birds, one stone-right?

Well, they are totally easy. Now, little story "behind" the panties. My DD likes to wear thongs. Yes, it's hard to say that your teenager likes that - it means that she's growing up. And another yes to hubby always saying NO when she wants them (but little does he know she gets them anyway). Well, of course being the teenager that she is teases me because she calls my undies "granny panties". No, let's get this straight first of all, they are not granny panties. I've got at least 20 (give or take a few) years before that sets in. But anything to my DD that is more than lets say a string is a granny panty. So, that brings me to the card. I had to make the panties a little more "realistic" let's say. I had originally wanted to stamp the "tattoo" a cool Harley Davidson emblem I have, but the darn panties were too big to stamp that image ~ so I went with the lips! ha ha ha.... The paper is from the EK Success Harley Davidson papers so I was 1/2 way there. And when you think of HD you think "tough" so I thought ok, this pattern will work. I then added the "elastic" which is Rick Rak I purchased at Walmart.

Well, I hope that you enjoyed today's LONG post. I hope to chat more tomorrow ~ see you then.

Been off for a bit....

So sorry that I've been off for a bit. I actually had things to do that did not require paper, ink and tape! I know *gasp!!*

I have a swap going on at my MSN site and it's for St. Patricks Day. Can you believe that it is only 39 days away ~ and Easter is 45 days away!!! It's actually going to be here before we know it! So I've started in on my St. Patricks day and Easter cards. With both holidays being just over a week apart, I need to get to work. On any given holiday I sent out at least 25 cards - not to mention the birthdays in between. Which reminds me, I've got a BIL I need to get a card in the mail for!!! Oooooh, I better get to work!

For this card I used the Darcies frame image. Darcie's was a big thing when I was on the west coast. They were at all the stamp shows, and you could hardly get to their booth there was so many people. My DD was one of them. She has quite a few of their images. And yes, this is another of her's that I used. So, I stamped it and colored it in with markers and pencils. (Got to get the pencils in there someplace!) I cut the center of the frame out and covered it with acetate to make the shaker.

The base card is Glorious Green. I covered it with Certainly Celery and added the DP from The Paper Patch on top. That paper I've had for years! When I saw it I bought most all they had.

After I added the shamrock confetti to the frame I covered that with a piece of DP from Paper Adventures. Yes, this I also "borrowed" from my DD. Once again years ago I bought her paper at the LSS. They had all different types of cereals on the paper, this one of course has the lucky charms. I then glued that to the card and I was done. Shaker cards are really quite easy to do, and I thought that this would be cute for St. Patricks Day!
