More Time Well Spent

Yuppers, I think that this is probably my most favorite set of all time. Ok, well ~ maybe not, but I sure do love it. Each time that I need to make a card I seem to be reaching for this set. It's fun ~ and can be a bit colorful which is a nice addition to the rather gloomy weather that we've been seeing!
My DD asked me to make a card for her friends birthday that she went to last weekend. She told me that she is really not too girly so I thought that I'd have to keep this card in my stash and start over. When my DD came home from school and another of her friends was tagging along they both noticed the card at the same time and in unison they said "She's going to like that". Of course I was happy, but then I was sad too because I wanted to keep it. Oh well, another reason to make another.

As far as the card goes, I used Pixie Pink for the card base. I had some more of that yummy DP I purchased for Gabby's DD's card so I had to use that too. It's from Creative Imaginations and it's just a really fun print. I placed a layer on the card and turned it over and used it again, but this time I used Pink Passion to ink the edges first and attached a length of ribbon to that layer. I stamped the flowers and butterfly, colored them with pencils and cut them out. I used pop dot's on some to give it a little depth. The saying I stamped from For a Friend, inked the edges as well with Pink Passion and placed it on the card using pop dots as well. The photo corner I made from a piece of scrap and placed in the upper right corner. Once everything was in it's place I added a touch of stickles here and there for a little punch of color.
Well, yes. I've been on a card making mission it seems like since last October. I've been wanting to get back to my scrapbook but it seems that there has been non stop holiday's since. So, finally a light at the end of the tunnel! I'm done with cards thru Easter. Thank goodness the next holiday I make cards for is in July so I just might finish my album by then!!
This page actually needs something else, but I just cant put my finger on it. So I stuck it in the album and I'm sure that it will come to me one day ~ when I'm in the middle of something I'm sure. I get sidetracked so easy!
This page has pic's from when I was a little girl. My Dad in the yard taking care of his plants. I will tell you that man had the greenest thumb of anyone I knew. Our yard was actually photographed and put in Better Homes & Gardens. And yes, that is me. My DH and I have known each other for as long as I can remember. When he saw this he said "there is the tattle tale". That's because when I was little, well, I used to be a tattle tale. I was riding that same little trike and I caught him and his cousin smoking and I said "oooh, I'm gonna tell" and turned my trike around and peddled off. And to this day he won't let me live it down. So every time he says that I say "I'm gonna tell!" :)
The BG paper is from SU! It was from the Petals and Paisley collection. I hoard paper because it's pretty and never want to cut into it! I'm sure none of you know what I'm talking about ;-)
I added another layer to it, then another from the same collection. I stitched around it with my sewing machine. I stamped random flowers from the Autumn Leaves clear stamps (I found at Walmart really cheap!!) and then some from One of a Kind and I cut those out. I took a piece of YoYo Yellow and added the journaling to it and made a pocket so it will slide behind one of the photos. The photo corners were made from pieces of scrap also. A little chalk and stickles and I was thru. Like I said, it still needs something. What do you think?
More to come tomorrow! Til then ~ happy stamping!!

I love this set! I really like how you incorporated stamping into your page. I have a really hard time doing that with my scrapbook pages.

Joanie - Love the stitching! So glad you got your sewing machine out for this!

I think it is wonderful you have a photo of your dad and you; I have none of my dad and me.

Did you try adding ribbon down one side?

I love this card! It is all my favorite colors. I have about decided that I just NEED that stamp set. It has gone beyond want. Your LO is fabulous, too. Your Dad's garden must have been amazing!

I heard a little rumor that you are a new TAC angel?? I'm an angel, too! Welcome to the company. You will LOVE it. I am just a hobby demo but hope to have time to build my "business" in the future.
