A little of this & that day.....

Good morning everyone!

The first thing that I wanted to show you was a couple of RAK's that I've receieved. I am part of a small group of people ~ who really don't know each other ~ that promised to send RAK's to each other often.

And part of the "rules" is that we do not have to post them if we don't want to. No need for recognition, we just do it because we want to.

But I wanted to.... I really like my cards, and they are in my keeper basket for sure.

Now this card I made yesterday. I needed a quick and simple card to pop in the mail and this is it. Unless I am making a card for someone in particular, like for their birthday I make cards in multiples of 2 or 4. It really does not take that much more time to do so I do it.

This card I used my TAC set Friendly Greetings. it was a cute stamp of the month set a while back and I just love it!

I took an Old Olive base and layered it with a piece of Cameo Coral that I stamped the the saying 'dog on it' with Chocolate Chip ink on. I added a length of ribbon and attached it to the card. I stamped the little guy and colored him with pencils. It's a little hard to notice but I stamped him again and cut out the muzzle and added another layer with pop dots. If you click on the picture you can see it larger. I also stamped the saying again on scrap and added it to the lower corner. Before I was done I used my corner rounder to round the right edges and added a piece of white cs to the inside and I was complete.


This next card I made for my stampers group. So if your in my groups this is the time to close your eyes~

I stamped the image from the Butterfly Swirls set ~ this image is gorgeous!! ~ on white cs and colored it in with my pencils and gamsol. I layered it with a piece of Lavendar Lace and Certainly Celery. The other layer is Lavendar Lace and some DP from the TAC Amberly Grace collection.

I took my tab punch and stamped the word 'happy' from TAC's gift with purchase stamps and the work 'thoughts' next to it in Lavendar Lace ink. I assembled the card and finished the image panel off with Stickles and my sakura gel pen and I was done.

This set is such a pretty set. I'm not too much into butterflies but this set is a must have!!

Hello there everyone! I just thought that I would pop in and post what I was up to yesterday.

I am in a swap where I have to make a Criss Cross card. One of my favorites, but I tend to sometimes get a little carried away and use too many embellishments and then I have trouble mailing them. This time I think I'll be ok. For those of you who don't know or have not tried a Criss Cross card you've got to check out the awesome tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers here. It's another of Beate's tutorials and she's just so awesome she'll blow your hair back. If you've never been to her blog you need to run there NOW! Ok, back to the card....


For the base card I used Real Red. I then layered the left triangle with Wild Wasabi and white cs that I stamped the bamboo on from Hero Arts. The right triangle I layered a piece of Yuzen Washi paper from The Paper Palette. I colored the bamboo in with my SU! Watercolor crayons. For the belly band I just used a piece of gold cs and tied a length of black organdy ribbon around it. I layered a Real Red scallop circle and a 1 3/8" circle punch. I stamped the image from my TAC™ set Friendly Greetings. That was the SOTM and it's adorable.


Inside I stamped the coordinating word 'good luck' on white paper that I layered onto gold cs. For the "pull tab" part at the top I stamped one of the images hats and cut it out - I thought it was kinda cute. The card really did not take too long to make, and like I said before the Criss Cross cards are fun!


Here's another card I made yesterday. I really don't have any idea why I made it, but I have it in case I need one.....


For the base card I used Chocolate Chip paper. I layered it with a piece of DP from theangelcompany™ Rustic Chic collection. That's another fun pad of paper. I've found that it coordinates with everything.


I stamped the little chick from Hey Chick collection, colored it with pencils and punched it out with my 1 3/8" circle punch. I then took out my Circle Sampler collection and stamped a circle and punched it out with my scallop circle punch. Once I had that adhered together I had no idea what to do with it!! So I sat and thought for a minute and decided to cut a hole right thru the front of the card. I pulled out my coluzzle and cut a circle just a little bigger than the scallop punch. I then adhered the image inside the card.


Still sitting there not knowing what to do next - I thought I'd stamp the words "hey Chick" from the set and use my word window punch to punch it out. Then what!?! I took my round tab punch and punched out a piece of Chocolate Chip cs and layered the word window punch on top of it. Still looking plain, I added a piece of brown ribbon under it, flipped up the ends to make hoops on each side and added brads thru it.

For such a simple card it gave me trouble. Sometimes simple is not easy....

Friendly (muddy) Greetings

Happy Saturday everyone! I thought that I'd post this card this morning because that's what we planned on doing today ~ play in the mud. Ok, well actually we were going to get top soil so we could get ready to start the garden. And yes, flowers too! But no, the weather reporter said that we were going to have some storms and today was supposed to be icky. Well, we cancelled it. Now, as I'm writing this I am looking out the window and the sun is out. There are a few clouds, but nothing that looks bad.


Oh well. Maybe I will get to re-arrange the furniture in the living room? Hmmm. Or maybe just play with my new stamps :)


This card is made with theangelcompany™ Stamp of The Month set Friendly Greetings. I just think that little piggy is so cute! And yes, this was another quick and easy card. The base card is Chocolate Chip. I layered on a piece of Pixie Pink cs and a piece of DP from the Catelynne collection. I sponged Chocolate Chip ink around that layer.


I stamped the image and colored him in with pencils and gamsol. I sponged Chocolate Chip ink around that and layered that on to another piece of DP from the Catelynne collection. I sponged Chocolate Chip around that layer too! As you can see, I like to sponge the edges. I think that sometimes it just makes the card look finished. The edges don't look just plain. Then I tied some ribbon around that and adhered it to the card.
