Good morning!

Good morning everyone! I hope that today finds you well.
I'm trying to get my computer stuff done this morning because the weather report says that we might be having some nasty weather this afternoon. I try to keep the computer off during those times. Last thing I want is to fry the computer. Then what would I do?
I've got just a couple of things for you. A card and a couple of ATC's.
The first I'll show you are some ATC's that I did a while back. I was in an ATC swap that was titled "My favorite Things". It was not MFT the stamp company, it was MY favorite things. I love cupcakes, but you know that. Anyway on with the deets....
The card stock used was Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip. I colored the rubber directly with my markers and then colored the images in with pencils and gamsol. I added a little stickles here and there for some "pop". On the one ATC I stamped "hey sweet thing" on a scrap and cut it out and adhered it to another scrap. Punched a hole in it and attached it to the card with some thread.
I thought they turned out cute ~ but then again they are cupcakes, of course they are cute!!
The next card I made for a friend a while back and sent it out. I just have not posted it. I do try to wait til the recipient get's it, and I already know that she did.
The base card is Pretty in Pink. I layered it with Close to Cocoa and some TAC DP called Mimi. I just love that paper!! I cut out the top note die with the Mimi collection and added it to the left side of the card. I then colored the image with my markers and stamped it on to a piece of white paper. I then added the sentiment and sponged Chocolate Chip ink around the panel. I layered that on to a piece of Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip and added it to the card. I also added a length of organdy ribbon to the card ~ I think that added a little more softness, don't you think?

The inside I layered a piece of Chocolate Chip and white cs that I punched with my Martha Stewart punch and I was complete!

I hope that you enjoyed this card today. I'll try to get another post in this afternoon ~ as long as the weather permits!!

Have a great day!!!

It's Thursday!!

It's Thursday and Joyce is on her way. She's up there in the wild blue yonder..... I'm so excited!! Can you tell?

I've got the house cleaned and now it's just waiting time.... So I thought that I might share something with you all.
I am so in need of making birthday cards. I've got a few birthday's coming up and Danielle has depleted my stash. She used to love to sit with us and make cards. As a matter of fact she could knock them out in a matter of minutes ~ and they were good. They did not look like they were thrown together. But of course she's outgrown that. It's not cool for a teen to sit with Mom and Nana and do things like this. So when she's got a friend who's birthday is coming up she raids my stash.... But that's ok, it makes me feel needed *Ü*
For this card I used my cupcakes from TAC's Sweet Thing set. I stamped it then stamped it again on the SU! Sweet Always DP. I colored it in and cut out the base of the stamped image from the DP and pieced it. The base card is Chocolate Chip layered with Pink Pirouette and Sweet Always DP. I stamped the sentiment in Pixie Pink ink from my TAC Gift With Purchase stamps and punched it out with SU! large oval punch and my Marvy scallop oval punch. I added a ribbon and a brad and I was done.
The next card I made for Betty as a Thank You for the Mother's Day lunch she took us out to. I was wanting to make a card and I thought that something with the Voila set might be cute. Then I remembered the window set and an idea hit!! I'm kinda bored with my stamps right now so you might see some imagination. I'm trying to be good and not spend right now...
The base card is Pacific Point (a must to stock up on because it will be leaving soon). I layered it with Ballet Blue and some DP from the Summer Picnic series. I stamped the window image from Window on the World twice and colored it. I then set up the layers where I wanted them and cut the opening out of the window and straight thru all the layers.
The bottom part of the card is the DP that I "ruffled" and ran thru my sewing machine. My machine is having issues so the holes are not uniform ~ I'm picky like that....
So anyway, after cutting the layers out I had the Voila image that I set in the window to see where I wanted to place him. Once it was in the right spot I taped it down and adhered the 2nd stamped window on the inside, just to cover up the edges. I also paper pieced the chef's pants, hat, color and cuff with the same Summer Picnic paper. So - whadda ya think??
I will try to be back tomorrow for some more posting, but I can't promise it... We've got a year to catch up with Joyce. That's a lot of chattin' at the table.
Here's to wishin' you a great day!
Hugs,
Joani

Good Monday Morning!

Hello Everyone!
Did you all have a wonderful weekend and Mother's Day? I sure hope so, I did. I could not ask for anything more enjoyable. The weather was perfect!

First we went to breakfast at Cracker Barrel (my favorite restaurant!!). For those of you who don't know it's a down home country restaurant with a country store in the front. When we go there, after we eat I get to browse around the shop and look at everything. Although I was fine with not looking around yesterday. They were a little crowded because of the holiday.

Then we went to Lowe's and picked out my Daisies. Every year I grow daisies outside on the back porch. Can you believe that they were just about sold out. Then hubby got some more plants for his garden. We went to Walmart to look at their plants too, but they just don't take care of them - there was nothing there that tickled my fancy. But hubby bought some powder for the plants, something is eating my petunia leaves.
After that we stopped by Sonic to pick up a watermelon slushie (another favorite of mine) and we came home and playing in the dirt. While I was in the back yard I noticed a wine barrel that I have a rose bush in. Last year I planted some Moss Rose's in it around the edge of the barrel, so I had to run out and pick some of those up....

I came home and planted those. Helped hubby clean up a bit, he was weed eating and pulling weeds in his garden - so I came in the house. I sat with Mom in the living room and fell asleep! So I took a little afternoon nap. The windows were open so there was a breeze. Oh what a wonderful day it was!

Did you have enough of my rambles? Let's get to business.
I needed to make a special birthday card for a special someone the other day and this is what I came up with. You all know that I love cupcakes, I've told you enough, so that's what I made. I had picked up some cute paper when Anne took us to the scrapbook store (Memories a la Mode) in Frankfort a while back and I had to use it.
The base card is Pink Pirouette and I layered it with Ballet Blue, Bashful Blue and some DP from imaginisece All kinds of Happy. The stamp on the front is from TAC it's called Sweet Thing and I also used the candle and saying from TAC's Little Cupcake. The Happy Birthday inside is a stamp that I always seem to use - it's YEARS old - it's from D.O.T.S.
You like the border punch? That's what hubby got for me last time I went to Micheal's. It's a Martha Stewart border punch. I paper pieced the bottom of the cupcake and the top. On the top I pieced it but added that layer with pop dots. I also added some stickles to the card to give it a little "bling".
Do you like it??
I think that I've mentioned before that I look forward to Wednesday's on SCS to see what new tutorial they post. Well here is a sneek peek at what I did with their last Wednesday's post.
Sorry I was so long winded today, maybe yesterday refreshed me?? That's all I've got for you today, I hope you all have a nice day!

Hugs,
Joani

It's hump day!

Happy Hump Day everyone! My goodness, Wednesday already. Where does the time go? Mom was right, the older you get the faster time goes by...

Yes, I'm still working on my scrap book. I'm almost done for now. I've got to go to the store and print out more pictures. I've not scrapped in probably almost a year now. I do want to get as much done as I can though. Even work on the family album a little more. But I still keep making cards. That's my true passion.

So you ready for a peek? Here we go!

I am in need of making birthday cards for my "stash" and this is what I came up with. I made a few of these, they can be for either a male or female.

I used the TAC set Sweet Thing. I just l♥ve cupcakes!! I stamped it and colored it in with my pencils and gamsol. The base card is Bashful Blue and I also used Pumpkin Pie and SU! Delicate Dots DP. I used my nesties to cut out the image that I sponged with Bashful Blue ink and the Pumpkin Pie layer that I paper peirced. I also cut out a circle of the DP and added some ribbon scrap then adhered it behind the image. I stamped the words Celebrate and birthday wishes with Pumpkin Pie ink. The inside I just took some of the scraps I had from making the card front and used my scallop punch to add another dimension. The stamp is one of my all time favorites from D.O.T.S. that I always end up using on birthday cards. Once the card was complete I used some dimensional glaze over the top of the cupcake to give it a little more texture.

The next card I made was a special card for my Mother for Mother's day. After all, I could not give her one of the other's I made. I had to make it special for her, besides, she had seen all the others *Ü*

I knew just the set that I wanted to use for her card. She likes the flowers and the soft chalks so I had to pull out my SU! Wreath of Roses set. The base card is Pink Pirouette that I layered with some butterfly cs that I purchased years ago from The Paper Palette at a show, Purely Pomegranate and some DP from CTMH.

I colored the rubber with my markers then stamped it on to white cs. I took my chalks and sponged some color just on to the flowers themselves then stamped the words Happy Mother's Day in the center of the wreath. I cut the image and the panel behind it out with my nesties and added that to the card front. After adding the DP to the card, but before adhering the panel down I added a length of ribbon to the card. For the inside I just took and stamped a rose in the corner and added the chalk to it.

You think she'll like it?? I hope so.

Well that's all I've got for you today. I hope that will hold ya??

Have a great day!
Hugs,

Joani
