I'm still here, really.

I'm still here ~ just very busy with life and family right now.  Thank you for sticking around while I've been in non-posting mode.  I've got a very busy day tomorrow with appointments and such but this week I hope to get back on track.

I do want to show you a card that I made for Christmas this year.  I just love snowmen and these guys are so fun and cute that I could not wait to show you!

This stamp is one that I bought many years ago and it is from A Country Welcome.  I stamped the image and colored it with my pencils and gamsol.  The stars are colored with my markers and stickles were added to them and the snowflakes.  The base card is Ballet Blue that I layered with white cs and some DP.  I've got a piece of Bashful Blue that I ran thru the cuttlebug with the snowflakes folder.  I ran ribbon across the two paper seams to hide it.  I took the sentiment and stamped it and cut it out a little wavy and added it to a piece of Ballet Blue and had cut the border.  I added it to the card with different size pop dots to give it the wavy look.  I added a white foam snow flake and one punched out with a Martha Stewart punch secured with a crystal brad and attached with a glue dot and I was complete.

So wadda ya think?  It's time to start in full blown Christmas mode.  And what have you been up to?

Good Morning

I hope your morning is better than ours! It's been rainy so far this morning. It's just kind of icky, dreary outside. But I was up bright and early before 5:30 finishing a project I was working on. I just decided to take a little break and jump on the computer. I really don't know why I've got all this energy this morning, but I'll take advantage of it.

Wanna see some cards? Well, here we go!!
This little guy is from Darcie's. Like I mentioned before, when we used to go to stamp shows when we lived in California we bought a lot of Darcie's products. When we used to go I gave my daughter money to spend on things she liked, and she liked Darcie's. She would go to their bin where they had tons of UM rubber to look thru. She'd stand there forever and look thru it and pick out what she liked ~ so actually a lot of the Darcie's is her's. But of course Mom get's to use it Ü

The base card is Riding Hood Red that I layered with a piece of Kiwi Kiss that I ran thru the cuttlebug. Before adding the ribbon to the card I sponged it with some Ruby Red ink. I stamped the image and colored it with watercolors, sponged some Ruby Red ink around that layer and mounted that to a piece of Riding Hood Red as well. With some scraps I made the photo corner with my SU! scallop square punch and my 1" square punch, then added some glitter to the snow for some sparkle and I was done. I thought that it made a cute card.

When I made this card I thought it was a little simple. Maybe because there was not that much to color, but the more I look at it the more I like it. I stamped it one night and colored it in, then I thought I'd add stickles to the stars and the falling snow. I let it sit for a couple of days then came back to it still thinking it was a little plain. I did not want to waste the images so I grabbed them to put on a card.

The image is from A County Welcome. The base card is Baja Breeze that I layered with Riding Hood Red and a white piece of cs that I ran thru the cuttlebug with the snowflake folder. I added the image panel to a piece of Blue Bayou after sponging some Not Quite Navy ink lightly around the edges and I was done. It was a quick card, but I think that it turned out kind of nice.

I think that is enough for today. I will be back tomorrow with more to show you.

Have a great day!
Hugs,
Joani

Ü Happy Friday Everybody!

Woo Hoo it's Friday! For some reason my internal clock has been telling me most of the week that it's Friday, but I'm glad it's here.

I've been a little busy working on some cards to show you. But for some reason I don't feel like they are just right. I'm thinking that a trip to the scrapbook store is called for. I'm in need of some new paper.

As I've told you all before, I am a lover of Halloween and Fall. So that's why your going to be seeing a lot of Fall cards. I'm almost done with Halloween ~ but my DD came up to me the other day and told me that she likes all her teachers this year. So you know what that means? Yup, I get to make little teacher goodies. Last year she only liked one teacher, so I was off the hook. Looks like I'm going to get busier than I thought!

I made this card to send out for a RAK. I wanted to use only theangelcompany™ products and they don't have any paper, so I thought well what do I have that can be used for Halloween? Then I thought about the Brighten my Day collection. It's got orange colors in it! Ok, not a traditional Halloween card, but I thought that with the black it would look nice.

I used a Basic Black for the base card and layered it with Only Orange and paper from my TAC™ Brighten my Day collection. I sponged black ink around the Only Orange layer. I stamped the images from my Spooktacular set and colored them with my pencils. I sponged Only Orange around the layer and adhered that to the card. The sentiment, also from my Spooktacular set I stamped straight on to the DP. I think that it turned out ok.

I'm sorry for the glare in this picture ~ I tried to fix it and couldn't. This is another stamp from the Spooktacular set. I think that these images are adorable!! And they fit nicely into the scallop circle punches!

I looked back thru some old SCS sketches and found this one SC179 that I thought might look ok for this card.

I stamped my image from the TACSpooktacular set, punched it out with my Mega Scallop Circle punch and sponged Only Orange around the edges and added small black dots to the scallops. I then punched out a piece of Only Orange with my Giga Scallop punch. I lightly sponged black around the edges, then I added the black dot's to the scallops.

The base card was a piece of yellow paper that I had that's not too thick - so all the layers helps. I added a piece of Only Orange and a layer of DP from Heidi Grace. I then took some DP from SU! and layered that on to a piece of Basic Black and added the length of ribbon. The sentiment is from the Spooktacular set also. I stamped that with white ink onto black paper and layered that on to a piece of Only Orange and added that to the bottom right corner. Once the card was complete I added some orange stickles around the moon to give it a glow and I was complete.

This card is a mish mash of all things scrapped. I have a dear friend, who's name I wont mention ~ comes over and goes thru my craft room garbage because I'm bad about throwing things out. I have paper that I'm sure I can still use but toss out. So she goes thru it and punches out squares for her inchies. I've not got into the whole inchie thing ~ they are just too small for me to concentrate on. I tend to over layer, or over do. With inchies you have such a small space, I'm always thinking too big. Anyway, this card is "dedicated" to her ~ because I was good and used my scraps Ü

The base card is Basic Black. I layered it with a piece of Certainly Celery and Orchid Opulence. The DP is from Heidi Grace, Making Memories and Frances Meyer. The image is from A Country Welcome and I purchased that years ago. I think it's still available on their site. I colored the image with my pencils and gamsol. I sponged some Orchid Opulence ink around the edges, layered it and I was complete. This card was actually very fast and easy. I followed another sketch from SCS, which is SC194.

I do have another couple of cards to show you but I am going to wait until tomorrow ~ I don't want to overdose you in one day :)

Have a great day and I will be back tomorrow to show you more!

Hugs,
Joani
