A little Tess

Good morning folks ~ I hope that today finds you well.

I've been lucky enough that Betty let me borrow some of her stamps again, and this time it's Tess.  At first I really did not care for it - til I touched it.  Once I touched it I loved it!!  I love the chef from the Voilà' set too because like Tess you can paper piece it.  So you wanna see what I did with it?  Of course!

I wanted to make some easel calendars that are still good for the rest of this year, that's what these are.  The base is Garden Green that I layered with Chocolate Chip and Brocade Background DP.  I stamped the image from Tote-ally Tess and colored parts of her in, then paper pieced the rest with scraps.  I stamped off the bag and rubber stamp in her hand, colored them and cut them out and added them to the main image. 

Isn't she just adorable!!  I love to paper piece - you can get such a different look than just coloring an image.  And if you use the scraps from the papers that your using you get a matched look.

Here is another calendar made with Tote-ally Tess.  The base measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" so it will fit into a regular A2 size envelope.  I stamped the image from Tote-ally Tess and colored her in with pencils and gamsol and paper pieced the rest.  The DP is called Brocade Background from SU! but it is discontinued, sorry.  I also used River Rock, Chocolate Chip and Garden Green card stock.  The punch I used across the middle was from Martha Stewart and the Chocolate Chip layer under the image panel was cut out with my Cricut Storybook cartridge, as was the green flourish in the bottom right corner.  The paper rose I made with some Creamy Caramel paper. 

To get this size easel I took a piece of card stock that was 5 1/2" x 11" and scored it at 5 1/2" and 8 1/4".  The front panel was 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" that was decorated.  Easy Peasy......

Ok, now I will share with you something that I did and while I was doing it I thought "you dummy".  Take a peek at her bag.  Can you see all the little pieces?  I stamped her bag twice on to the DP.  One of the bags I cut the handles off of, that was used at the back of the bag.  I stamped the little images, the pen, the rubber stamp, the card and the scissors and cut them all out and placed them in her bag.  I put a piece of tape on the "back" of the bag and adhered the pieces down.  I then placed the "front" of the bag, the piece with the handles over that.  Using the "back" of the bag gave me the placement to put Tess' tools in her bag and it also gave a little dimension to the bag.  Yup, I'm

crazy!!

I'm always in need of a calendar - so I keep one at my desk, one at my craft table, one in my purse, one on the refrigerator...  So these work out great.  And best yet, they fold flat so you can mail them out to friends and family.

Good Morning

I hope that today finds you well.  This past weekend was so beautiful!  It seemed to me so much like the start of the Fall season ~ and you all know that I love Fall.  I want to start putting up Fall decorations, but I'll wait till the beginning of October... 

So you wanna see a few things?  Here we go...

This was an acrylic frame that Betty and I got from Dollar Tree, they are sturdy.  When I was working I would of loved to have something like this on my desk.

I opened the acrylic frame and inserted a piece of paper from the Delicate Dots collection.  I added a post it note pad and a mini calendar from skyblupink.com to the front of the frame.  I also added a pen that has matching DP.  Here are a few more of them.  I basically did the same to all of them.

This one has DP from the Melon Mambo collection.

This frame has paper from The Angel Company called Tuscany Spice.  I thought that it looks a little Fall like, don't you?

**EDITED 09/28/2009 to add how the pen is attached.

Some of you asked how the pen was attached to the post it note holder.  I simply took a 3/4" x 3" piece of cardstock and rolled it around the pen.  I kept the the end where the pen is over the top of the clear acrylic frame and attached the other ends to the back of the frame.  I then added a piece of DP to the back of the frame to cover up the cs piece and I was done.  I hope that this clarifies it for some of you.  If not just let me know and I can take a picture of it for you.

Here are my other two seasons, Winter and Fall.
There is so much to love about Fall with all the different colors. I'm excited for that season to reach us!

Yesterday I posted a peek at what I'm doing now ~ they are CD Calendars. Well, not really CD calendars ~ more like CD case calendars. The thought popped into my head last year but instead I made the checkbook calendars. I am forever looking for a calendar. When you don't have a daily job you go to you sometimes neglect the date... so that's where these come in.
I made 4 inserts for the calendar. One for spring, summer, autumn and winter. You just change them out with the months.

I had first seen these over at Maria's site. She is such a talent!!

I will pop in later with the other two "seasons" for you to see later!

Happy Hump Day everybody Ü

Here it is the middle of the week and the weekend's almost here. Anyone have plans for Valentine's day? I'm not sure what we will do. I told hubby to surprise me. We generally have a date night, but we haven't for months. With being busy with my SIL and her dogs, then our precious dog passing, the holidays, Mom's birthday, being lumberjacks..... The list goes on and on. So this Valentine's I am for sure doing something! To start it off I still needed to make cards! I've been thinking of making the cards to sell, making cards for friends and family ~ but I neglected to make my own family's cards!! So that's what I did yesterday.

This is my daughter's card. I looked in my stash of images that I've received and I found Ipodabella. Now I thought that this was perfect for Danielle. This so reminds me of her, without the phone of course, so that's why I did this one for her. And of course in pink!

The base card is Pink Pirouette layered with Pink Passion and Pixie Pink. The Pink Passion background was run thru the CB with the swirls folder and I sponged on some Pink Passion ink. I also layered on some DP from TAC's Catelynne collection (my most favorite of all of them!!). I colored the image in with pencils and gamsol and sponged some Pink Passion ink around that layer. I added some pink ribbon and a bow, and in the center of the bow I glued a pink heart that I found in my button stash Ü I also glued two red heart buttons at the top right of the card and some primas and a crystal brad at the lower right of the image panel. I stamped the lips from Whipper Snapper, colored it in with my Real Red marker and punched it out with my 3/4" circle punch. I layered that on to a scrap piece of DP from Catelynne punched with my 1" circle punch and layered that on to a clear flower from Making Memories.

I'm sure that she will like it - all that pink, she's got to!

Here's the card that I made for Mom. This was another RAK image that I had and thought that it was cute for Valentines. It is House Mouse Designs Chocolate Mouse. There was a time that I was addicted, I mean ADDICTED to House Mouse.

The base card is Real Red and I layered it with Chocolate Chip and some DP from Paper Salon's Smitten collection. The image was colored with my pencils and gamsol. I sponged Close to Cocoa around the edges and layered it on to a piece of Chocolate Chip and Real Red and placed it on the card with pop dots.

For the inside of the card I took a strip of the DP and a pink and brown ribbon and added that to a piece of white CS. I stamped the image from Whipper Snapper inside and colored it with my Chocolate Chip and Real Red markers.

And now for hubby's card.For Ricky's card I used some images that I stamped from Betty's Love You Much set. The base card is Real Red. I layered it with some Catelynne DP and Pink Pirouette cs. I used Real Red ink to sponge the layers. The 'love' panel I colored with markers and for the flower I used some flower sequins I've had for years with a heart brad. The center of the "O" I punched a heart out and glued it to the center and added some stickles for a pop! The heart I colored it in with pencils and outlined it with a Real Red marker, cut it out and added some Fruit Punch stickles to the petals on the flowers. The hugs and kisses panel I colored with pencils and markers and punched out with my scallop punch. I added some stickles to that also. There is a Pink Pirouette panel tucked behind the heart that was punched out with Betty's Martha Stewart punch, and I added a length of organdy ribbon.

Inside I layered with Pink Pirouette and white cs. I stamped the image and lips from Whipper Snapper in the lower right corner and colored those in with markers ~ I punched a pieces of scrap Real Red and Pink Pirouette with my scallop punch, 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" circle punches and the hearts with my heart punch.

Not too frilly I think. But that's ok too ~ because it's Valentines and those are supposed to be mushy. I used all RAK images because they are stamps that my family's not seen. I did not want to make Valentines with images that they've already seen, it would not seem as special.

I do have something else to show you today. It's a treat - so your going to have a super long post today!! It's the least I can do for not posting yesterday.

I can not take credit for these! These are made by a friend of mine and she e-mailed me pictures of what she has been up to. As you can see, a whole lot!!!

Now how stinkin' cute are these??? I don't know which one I like best, I like them ALL!!

Another day, another project!

Here it is almost noon time and I still have barely got out of my own way. Hubby spoils me. On the weekends he cooks breakfast. Oh, he can cook a darn good breakfast. He leaves a giant mess ~ but the breakfast is SO worth it!

Then I thought, I'll just sit at the computer and take a look around blog land for a few minutes.... Well, that turned out to be a trip to Jacksonbell's and a few dollars later (she's having a Labor Day sale!!) I'm still sitting here.....

So I figure I might as well be productive and show you what I did yesterday.

These cards need a little something else... But the idea was to show the actual birthday. I've got a little something else cooking along the same lines as this though. Hopefully I'll get that done today and show you tomorrow!

I took the Calendar set from TAC (it's discontinued) and stamped the calendar, date and month out. Then layered that on a piece of TAC paper from the Brighten my Day collection. I then took the happy bday from the Changito set that Nic sent me and stamped that out. I used a little glitter here and there and I was done.

I am in need of making some items for my stampers group. I've been busy making things for my family and the Peddler's Mall that I've "neglected" my other duties.

I always sent little things that I make along with my customer orders. I think that it is only right. Just because we are not sitting down to actual "parties" does not mean that they should not get something. Just my way of thinking....

So being stumped ~ I was off to look at my TAC catty. I think that it's kinda cool to have "recipes" for different projects right in the catty itself. And this is one of them.

It's called a treat holder. Now, I'm not sure what type of treat you can put in there because of the belly band, but I was thinking of using it as a coupon holder for my purse... And it was really super easy to make. The directions right there in the catty with the picture really helps!

I took a piece of Chocolate Chip cs for the base. You use a paper lunch sack to create the inside.

The belly band is made up with paper from TAC's Willoughby collection and a piece of Certainly Celery cs. I used my Mega and Giga scallop punches to adhere the image on to. The image is one of the previous stamps of the month from TAC. I added a loopy brad and some ribbon scraps ~ stamped the sentiment from Trendy Greetings and I was done! I am so using this as a coupon holder....

Well, enough of my babble ~ it's time to get going and try to make something out of this day.
