Good Morning Everyone!!! It is another beautiful day here so I'm not sure how much I will get done. Isn't that awful? But I'm pretty sure that the spring fever bug has hit me. I just love looking in the backyard at all the pretty colors and beauty. The little mama robin has 3 of her 4 eggs hatched. The flowers are in bloom. It is just so peaceful. I wish I could share this with everyone!

Yesterday I did manage to get a few of my swaps done. I've got some ATC and cards swaps cooking over at my MSN site. These you see pictured here are for the embossed ATC swap. You have to emboss something on your ATC cards. I used my TAC™ set Ice Cream T2630 and the Sweet Skunks T2674 sets. For the Ice Cream set I stamped her and colored her in. The colors were not very bright, the showed up muted. Once I embossed her she showed up really bright and I was happy. That's one of my favorite sets because of course I love Ice Cream!!! For the other ATC I only embossed a few of the flowers then raised them up with pop dots. Of course those little buggers were hard to cut out with my fumble fingers.

This next set of ATC's are for a Garden swap. I pulled out my Old Friend T2643 set. This set is so cute with the little seed box and different things you can put on the front. For the other ATC I used a very old set that I bought from D.O.T.S. years ago! The little farmer boy and the seeds.










Another swap that I am in is for Father's Day. And I need to make cards for that too to send out. Of course "manly" cards are so hard for me to create. Of course I thought what better set to use than something out-doorsy ~ SU! Noble Deer set!

For this card I used some of the paper that my friend Betty gave me that she ran thru her cuttlebug. I thought black and gold looked good for the card. After all I could not use my regular pinks and browns.... I colored direct on the rubber with my pens, I thought that looked best. Then I stamped the sentiment from another SU! set Thoughts of Father, sponged around that with Chocolate Chip, layered it like the rest of the card with black and gold and I was finished. When I showed the card to my hubby he said "that's the set you used last year for my card". I was a little shocked! I can't believe he remembered ~ I didn't!!!



No, these are not more swap cards ~ but cards that I made to sell. Remember I told you about me selling my creations at the Peddler's Mall? Well the cans are selling and so are the cards. I've sold quite a few of those so I decided to make some Father's Day cards. Just a few in case they don't sell.





These are made with stamps from MFT. When I saw this image my first thought was of my hubby. He just loves the TV. He's always been fascinated by it. When he was a little boy and his Mom worked late into the night she'd come home to find her young son sitting on the floor of the living room right in front of the TV with the volume down low watching old western movies in black and white. Yes, to this day he still watches all the old black and white movies, but he does not have to sit on the floor. He sits in the chair. He's not a couch potato, if something needs to be done he gets it done. And most weekends he gets up early and cooks breakfast for everyone. But he works hard all week and when he wants to spend some quality time with the TV I don't care ~ it gives me time in the craft room :)


So, now you know why I bought the set - on to the card.


For the base card I used Night of Navy cs. I used my scor-pal to make the grid design on the blue cs. I then stamped it in various places with SU! Wonderful Weaves set. I layered that on to a piece of grey cs and tied a length of dark blue ribbon around it. I stamped the image from MFT and colored it in with my pencils. I stamped a second image and cut out the recliner and used different size pop dots on it to give it the 3D effect. I layered that panel on to a piece of yellow paper and glued it to the card. I stamped the sentiment "happy fathers day" with white ink directly on to the card in the lower right corner. Once the card was put together I took out my Crystal Lacquer and very carefully applied it to the front of the TV screen and I was done!

Happy Hump Day

Good morning everyone! I hope that this hump day is a good one for you so far.

It started to rain last night, but that's fine ~ it cleared the air out.

Sorry it's been a while since I've posted anything. Just trying to get back in the swing of things. I think that I've lost my mojo. I sit down at my craft table and then I start to look outside. I look at the pretty flowers, and at all the birds. I've got a couple of bird feeders. One out back and one out front. We've got a nest in one of the trees. It's a robin and there are 4 little eggs in it. As of last night 3 of the eggs have hatched. So my mind just starts to wander. Like we say about my DD "shiney things distract me". But I do have a couple of things I can show you.

I made these cards this weekend. I recently got the set Floral Labels from theangelcompany™ spring supplement. As you can see it's more for scrapbooking but I cut out the center where you do the journaling.

First I took a piece of Pixie Pink cs and tore the bottom edge off the paper. I then stamped the swirls in Pixie Pink ink from the Spring Dream collection. I also added a piece of Wild Wasabi paper inside the card so it would show thru.

For the image panel I took the floral label and cut out the center. I added that to a piece of Wild Wasabi cs also and added the brad "bling" in the lower corner then I attached it to a piece of DP from the Miss Moxie collection. That was all layered to the bottom right corner. Kind of like a off center kickstand card. You can not tell by the picture but there is stickles added to the flowers and the bee's little wings.

Yippie, it's the end of the week! And with a long weekend here I'm so glad. My daughter looks like she will be going camping with friends of her's this weekend. I'm happy for her, it's been a long time since she's gone camping ~ and she's the out-doorsy type. Last night she went fishing. Yes, fishing! For her birthday she got some money and went and bought herself a fishing pole. No, not just any fishing pole - a PINK fishing pole! She's a tom-boy at heart, but there is still a girl in there!! And I'm excited because the weather is starting to become nice. Today is a little gloomy, there was a little rain earlier. You know, the type that is just enought to get your hair wet but does nothing else. But this weekend it's supposed to be in the low to mid eighties with sun sun sun!!!

Last night I was poking around in the yard looking at all the flowers we've planted. They are growing so nice. I even have a rose bud on one of the bushes!! Years ago I bought a rose plant for my Dad. It was one of those in the bag that you get for a couple of dollars. Well my Father being the green thumb that he was took care of that plant and it had the most beautiful HUGE fragrant roses that you could ever imagine! It was called Mr. Lincoln. It was simply gorgeous! When I sold the house in California I made the new owner promise to take care of that plant and not dig it up, and she's taken care of it. The flowers were so fragrant that I took one to a friend once at work and she had to move it away from her desk it was making her sick! So when we were shopping around for flowers I found one. I so hope that it is the same plant....

Enough of my babble..... again.....

I want to show you a card that I made yesterday and a couple of cards that I received too! Gotta give kudos to those who deserve it!

This card was made by one of the members on my MSN group for a cowboy/cowgirl swap that we had.

Barb is a talented cardmaker, and I thought that this card was really cool! It's in my basket of favorites. The inside says "save a horse ride a cowboy". Very very nice Barb! And if you have a chance take a peek at her blog ~ I'm sure you will find some inspiration there!!

This card is a RAK that I received from a dear friend Nicola. (Check out her blog too! Another great talent!!!)

I know that Mother's day has passed, but this card is so nice that I just had to share!! I love pink, black, scallops & ribbons so this card is one of my fav's for sure!! I just love it! Thanks Nic!!!

Yesterday I worked on some cards that I had to make for Gabby's cocktail swap that I'm in over at SCS. They are not due til June ~ but you never know when something comes up and you should not wait til the last minute. Of course this is me saying this ~ the one who wait's til the last minute. I work well under pressure..... :)

I have this adorable paper that I bought years ago, it's Frances Meyer. I'm not even sure if it's available anymore. And of course the stamp is from House Mouse. I just love those little guys!

I wanted to show you this cute little "purse" and matching notecards I made for some dear friends Joyce and Betty. I also made one for my Mom for Mother's day. Of course I'm not sure if she will use it or just set it on the shelf to look at.

Sorry, I've been away....

I'm so sorry everyone, I've been away. Last week was hell week and I am so glad that it is over. Last night I just sat there saying how nice it was to be over, feeling more like a wet noodle than anything.

Doctors appointments, ortho appointments, Mothers day, company from out of town, brithday party planning, SUPRISE birthday party planning..... It's over!!! Then this morning I work up to get hubby off to work and he had to call in. He's had the worst tooth ache and we had to take him to the dentist. My DD is not feeling well and she's not at school today ~ I had a vision of last week all over again! But now everyone is resting, the birds are outside chirping and I'm posting! Ahhh, life's good.


I thought first of all I would share with you pictures of my DD and her "parties".

This was a picture of the get together we had at home on Friday evening. Just family and her BFF Alicia. They wanted to make tie dye shirts to wear. Alicia's birthday is exactly one month later so they thought they'd make shirts. They were a little disappointed when the shirts had too much white on them. I read the directions and did what it said, but I've not made a shirt like that since the 1st grade!!!

Yes, the hat.... When I first moved out here I went to the party store and bought a necklace that had beads and said "It's my Birthday". I make everyone wear it on their day. Well, last year on my birthday someone popped out with this hat. I could not find the necklace so the hat had to be worn. I had to wear it in public, Danielle was lucky!!

Then Satuday night we rented the party room at the bowling alley. They end up there every Saturday anyway. So Alicia and I made the invites and passed them out. We were hoping for a better turn out but the first truck pull of the season started and a lot of people went to that. But that's fine, we had a good time. My BIL was the DJ for the evening. Danielle and him spend time together a lot. He's like a big kid himself and they like the same music so I knew that he'd be a hit! He even dressed the part!

She had a lot of fun, and that's all that matters. Yes, she turned 16, but no car yet! That's something that I'd like to put off as long as I can. It scares me how many accidents happen. So many lives lost. And working in body shops for many years I see what can happen to a vehicle. I know I need to trust her, but it's not her. When I got my licence (I waited til I turned 18) my Father told me to drive defensively. That's what you have to do. And no, I'm not trying to hold on to her as long as I can. Ok, maybe just a little bit.... but I just want her to be safe.

Well yesterday afternoon I made a few thank you cards for Danielle to hand out. I thought she was going to school today, but nope. She's caught some type of bug. But at least the cards were made. That's something that I've always taught her too! You need to send some type of thank you, it's only polite. She could of made her own, but that would of taken MY fun away :)

One of her favorite color combos is pink and anything. Pink and brown, pink and black. Pink, pink pink!So I chose pink and black for this card. It was pretty quick and easy.

The base card is Basic Black. I layered it with DP from the Uptown Girl collection and a length of black grosgrain ribbon. All the stamps used were from the Gift With Purchase stamps from theangelcompany™. I stamped the swirl flourish with Pink Passion ink. I then took my scallop punch and punched a circle from the same collection cs. I stamped the "T" in black ink and punched that out with my 1 3/8" circle punch. I stamped the "T" again with Pink Passion ink on white paper and cut out the word "thanks" and adhered that over the other stamped in black.

For the inside I took a piece of white cs and stamped the swirl inside with Pink Passion ink and glued that down. Now she has a clear piece of cs to write on.

Well, that was not very much creativity for today ~ sorry. But I will get back on track in the net few days!

Good Morning everyone!

I thought I'd post a quick card or two before I get my day started! So much to do, so little time.




I made this card the other day using my TAC™ set Spring Dream T2688. This set is so cute with the funky doodling. And with the bright orange color it just jumps at you!


The base card is Apricot Appeal. I layered it with some DP from our Brighten my Day collection. I stamped the image twice and colored it in with my pencils. I used pop dots to add the 2nd layer of the flower and the butterfly to the card for some dimension. I sponged some Pumpkin Pie ink around the edges and layered it on to a piece of Pumpkin Pie cs that I cut using my Coluzzle.


I then stamped some swirls from the same set with Apricot Appeal ink on to a piece of Apricot Appeal cs, inked the edges with Pumpkin Pie and layered it on to a piece of Pumpkin Pie cs. I stamped the saying "just a note" from the Trendy Greetings set T2144 in the corner in Pumpkin Pie ink. Once everything was layered on the card I then took my orange stickles and went over the dots in the swirl pattern. It's hard to tell in the picture, but IRL it looks great.





This card I made is using theangelcompany™ set An Udder Birthday T2642. I just love the little cow images and this one is no exception. There's lot's of colors on this card, but I wanted it that way.



The base card is Basic Black. I layered a piece of Apricot Appeal and then a piece of Purely Pomegranate that I ran across my Scor-Pal first. I then took a piece of Basic Black, layered a piece of Eggplant Envy to that and ran a length of ribbon over the top of those layers. I added the sentiment in the square of the hardware then added it all the the card.



I stamped the cow and colored it in with pencils and Gamsol then sponged some Eggplant Envy around that layer. That panel I layered on to Eggplant Envy and Basic Black before adhering to the card. Once it was on the card I added the stickles to the water to give it some punch.

What a beautiful day it is today, too bad tomorrow is going to be icky! We've got rain on schedule for tomorrow. Too bad, I'd like to see more day's like today.

Today I've got just a couple of things to share with you. I've been working like a fiend, but I can't show you everything at once!

I just can't get enough of this little cowboy! He is from the theangelcompany™ Wild West T2633 set. He is the most adorable!!!

The card base is Close to Cocoa. All DP used on this card is from the TAC™ Catelynne collection. That is by far my favorite paper set!! I colored the little guy with my pencils and sponged Close to Cocoa ink around the panel before layering it on to a piece of Certainly Celery. I then staggered all the different layers of DP.

I stamped the word "cowboy" in Close to Cocoa and layered that on to a scrap piece of DP. I made the } and the photo corner with pieces of scrap also. I tied a length of brown ribbon around the photo corner and used some yellow stickles on his star for some bling, and I was finished.

The stamp used on this card is also one of my favorites. Ok, so I have a lot of favorites!!

This stamp set is called What's Moo? I stamped this and colored it with my pencils and Gamsol. The card base is Real Red. I used DP from the TAC™ Rustic Chic collection. Another really cool paper collection from TAC™!!

I layered the image on to a piece of Chocolate Chip as well as the saying and the red DP.

Happy Hump Day everyone! The week's almost over. Not to wish my life away, but I can't wait for next week to end. It's going to be so crazy busy!! But hey, life's unexpected! I could win the lottery and pay someone to deal with it for me, right?? No. Wake up, I'm dreaming!!!

Anyway, on to the card.

If you can remember last week I made a trifold pocket card. It was the tutorial of the week at SCS. They are actually very easy to make if you make a template of them. If not, you've got to pull your dinner plate out each time.

These 3 cards that I made for Mother's day are all made from the same tutorial from SCS. I used all SU! papers for them. Using the double sided paper is the best. My first one I didn't and I had to add a layer inside.

All the flowers are made with my Friskars and Marvy punches. I used various brads & bling for the centers and Zots dots to adhere to the cards.

For the edging at the top of the folds I used my Friskars "heartbeat" scissors. How long has it been since I've used those!! I never pull out any of the decorative scissors I have. I've got to do that more often.

This card I just had to share with everyone too! I joined in a RAK group with my upline. We promise to send cards out to each other with no having to give kudos to each other on line if we don't want to. Just basically send a RAK receive a RAK without strings. But I just loved that little lady bug so much that I had to share it.

This card is from my a wonderful stamper in my upline Kemi. It shows that you don't have to add all the bling and hoopla to make a card great!!

Well, I did not get much done this weekend. Much in the craft room at least. The weather was so wonderful that we went to Lowe's and got some flowers for the flowerbed & planter boxes.

After we got all the flowers planted we planted our tomato plants. A couple of weekends ago we went to a nursery in town and we each picked out our own tomato plants. My DD, wonderful as she is can be SO very blonde at times. The plant that she picked out was called "whopper". I'm sure some of you who know her can see where this is going.

She picked out the "whopper" because her all time favorite place to go is Burger King. Yes, she thought that these are the tomatoes they use on their burgers, the Whopper. My goodness..... All I could do was stand there with my mouth open thinking "you are not serious!?". Anyway, we each had to plant our own plants - and the race is on. Who will get the first tomato? We'll see....

So with my hands in dirt most of the weekend I did not get too much card making done. So today as soon as I can pry my hands from this keyboard I will be making cards. I am SO behind. I need to make Mother's Day cards - and here is one that I made really fast last night.

The base card is Purely Pomegranate. I layered that with a piece of Pretty in Pink that I stamped the flowers on with Purely Pomegranate ink and also sponged that around the edges. I then took a piece of Pixie Pink cs, stamped Happy Mother's Day in yes, your guessed it - Purely Pomegranate ink and layered that on the card. I took a piece of PP paper, tore the edge off, sponged some white ink from my Cat's Eye ~ added a flower eyelet to the top and adhered that to the card. The image I stamped from theangelcompany™ promo set from last month called A Little Spring, sponged around the edges ~ layered it on to a piece of Close to Cocoa cs and I was done.

I hope to have some more tidbits for you tomorrow. And of course as the day's wear down to my DD's birthday I may be getting a little bonkers. So bear with me, please.

The sun is shining here for the moment, hopefully it will stay.

I thought that I'd show you a little something that I made yesterday. This was a quick and simple card (thanks to my dear friend Betty). I wanted to make a thank you card for her for the wonderful pile of papers that she gave me. So if your looking Betty, close your eyes....

I just took a piece of pink cs and layered one of those wonderful papers that Betty put thru her cuttlebug - inked up the word 'thanks', added some ribbon and stuck the little window sentiment from theangelcompany™ Everyday Events set and I was done.

This card I made in a matter of minutes too! This was the weekly tutorial over at SCS. If you have not yet, check it out here. It was that wonderful Beate again. She makes the most wonderful creations, and her tutorials make them look so easy.

This is called a Gatefold card. If you are lucky enough to own a scor-pal then these cards can be made in a snap.

I used Chocolate Chip paper for the base card. I layered it with Wild Wasabi. The ovals were cut out with my coluzzle. I stamped the flower and butterfly with my TAC™ set Spring Dream and colored it in with my pencils. The smaller oval in the corner was also made with my coluzzle and I used a rub on for the word.

Other than that, I've got nothing else to show you today. I've got a couple of things to finish today then I need to work on my Mother's day cards. Can you beleive I've not started those!! I would normally have them done and ready to mail Monday..... Gotta get going.

Well another Friday is here. The day's seem to just fly by. With so much to do I don't know why I am sitting on the computer.

A short history lesson, yes my history. When I was married to my ex and my Father was still alive the week of Mother's day was like mini Christmas!! There was Mother's day, my Father's birthday (12th), my ex's birthday (14th) and my daughters birthday (16th). Well, my Father passed away and I got divorced so that left Mother's day and my daughters birthday. Much more manageable. Not this year!! This year there is Mother's day (11th) DD has an ortho appointment the 13th, I have a doctor appointment the 14th, a very good friend is coming in from California on the 15th (shhhh! It's a surprise!!! DD does not know about it - and she does not read my blog so I'm ok) 16th is DD's birthday and the 17th is a surprise party for her! So that week is now (for this year at least) hell week. My daughter is turning 16 and she has not wanted a party for a few years. This year she wants one and I told her we just can't do it. he he he.... The teasing I got from my Dad.... So Friday we are having a "party" with the family (oh. remember those... wishing you had all your friends there but don't) and then on Saturday she is going to the bowling alley (not much to do in this town for kids - but her BFF's step dad works there and at least they are supervised) and then he is going to tell them that the party room needs to be cleaned, like they always do to help out and we will be in there and yell "surprise!!" I can't wait - she has no clue!!!

So enough of my rambles!! Time to get to business!!


With my fiasco yesterday of doctors and labs I did not do anything - but I do have something to share.





I wanted to show you a card that was made by a dear friend Nic from Gorillamama Greats. She purchased some theangelcompany™ stamps from me and the first card that she made with the stamps was for me! She's so happy with her stamps, and I'm glad that the first card was for me! Thank you so much Nic, I just love it!!!







Yup, you see this pile! It's mine, mine ~ all mine!!! Ok, I'll share with Mom... Another dear friend of mine Betty from Ladybug Scraps stopped by the other day. She called to ask which booth my items were in at the Peddlers Mall in town. Well I was on another line and Mom told her. Then I realized that was just around the corner! Oh NO!! Mom said "Betty will be over shortly" and of course I went into a panic.


One of the BAD things about not working and staying at home is you don't have to get dressed

up or fixed up if you don't want to. Well, yes of course Betty happened by on one of those days when I was still in my sweats, ponytail in the hair (I'm not even sure if it was brushed or not - by my teeth were) and Mom's hair was in pin curls!! On a good note I just got done cleaning bathrooms - we have 3 and the upstairs. So I was entitled, right???







Anyway - she stopped by for a few minutes to chat. Her and her hubby's been taking trips to West Virginia for his work so she's not been by in a while to play. But look at what she brought!! She knows that I don't have a cuttlebug (gasp!!) yes, it's true... I want one, I just can't justify buying one when I have my Cricut too. Maybe someday, if there is a great sale..... But she was so kind as to bring me all these embossed papers. All different, in different colors. And yes, the OCD in me took over. They are all in order according to category and by color. I thank you so much Betty - your the AWESOME-EST!!!


Well everyone - I better get off my duff and get to work. Ok, get to play... Same thing, kinda. Just depends on who you ask :)

Something that I have to share...

As I sit here almost in tears, I am reading an e-mail forward that my Cousin sent to me. It is beautiful. I do not normally post things like this, but this was to nice not to share. Besides, I think that with my dear daughter's 16th birthday approaches I am getting a little misty...

• I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.
• I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.
• I would have talked less and listened more.
• I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded
• I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.
• I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.
• I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.
• I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.
• I would have sat on the lawn! With my grass stains.
• I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.
• I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.
• Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.
• When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, 'Later. Now go get washed up for dinner.' There would have been more 'I love you's; more 'I'm sorry's.'
• But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute...look at it and really see it. Live it and never give it back.
• STOP SWEATING THE SMALL STUFF!!! Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what. Instead; let's cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us.
• Let's think about what God HAS blessed us with, and what we are doing each day to promote ourselves mentally, physically, and emotionally. I hope you have a blessed day.

Hello there everyone! I just thought that I would pop in and post what I was up to yesterday.

I am in a swap where I have to make a Criss Cross card. One of my favorites, but I tend to sometimes get a little carried away and use too many embellishments and then I have trouble mailing them. This time I think I'll be ok. For those of you who don't know or have not tried a Criss Cross card you've got to check out the awesome tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers here. It's another of Beate's tutorials and she's just so awesome she'll blow your hair back. If you've never been to her blog you need to run there NOW! Ok, back to the card....


For the base card I used Real Red. I then layered the left triangle with Wild Wasabi and white cs that I stamped the bamboo on from Hero Arts. The right triangle I layered a piece of Yuzen Washi paper from The Paper Palette. I colored the bamboo in with my SU! Watercolor crayons. For the belly band I just used a piece of gold cs and tied a length of black organdy ribbon around it. I layered a Real Red scallop circle and a 1 3/8" circle punch. I stamped the image from my TAC™ set Friendly Greetings. That was the SOTM and it's adorable.


Inside I stamped the coordinating word 'good luck' on white paper that I layered onto gold cs. For the "pull tab" part at the top I stamped one of the images hats and cut it out - I thought it was kinda cute. The card really did not take too long to make, and like I said before the Criss Cross cards are fun!


Here's another card I made yesterday. I really don't have any idea why I made it, but I have it in case I need one.....


For the base card I used Chocolate Chip paper. I layered it with a piece of DP from theangelcompany™ Rustic Chic collection. That's another fun pad of paper. I've found that it coordinates with everything.


I stamped the little chick from Hey Chick collection, colored it with pencils and punched it out with my 1 3/8" circle punch. I then took out my Circle Sampler collection and stamped a circle and punched it out with my scallop circle punch. Once I had that adhered together I had no idea what to do with it!! So I sat and thought for a minute and decided to cut a hole right thru the front of the card. I pulled out my coluzzle and cut a circle just a little bigger than the scallop punch. I then adhered the image inside the card.


Still sitting there not knowing what to do next - I thought I'd stamp the words "hey Chick" from the set and use my word window punch to punch it out. Then what!?! I took my round tab punch and punched out a piece of Chocolate Chip cs and layered the word window punch on top of it. Still looking plain, I added a piece of brown ribbon under it, flipped up the ends to make hoops on each side and added brads thru it.

For such a simple card it gave me trouble. Sometimes simple is not easy....

Good morning everyone. I'm back with a couple of cards to show you.

This first card I made is for a swap that I am in. It is the cowboy/cowgirl swap. I used one of my new TAC™ sets called Wild West. This set is so darn adorable that I want to make so many cards with it ~ but what to do with the cards? I don't know anyone who has a little boy. Well, it's a dilemma I'll deal with :)

The base card itself is Chocolate Chip. I layered Close to Cocoa and a piece of DP from the TAC™ Rustic Chic collection (yes, another favorite!!). I also used Creamy Caramel paper too. I stamped the little guy and cactus and colored them with pencils and gamsol. I sponged Chocolate Chip ink around the layers and adhered it to the card. The words 'wild wild west' were stamped and cut out on an angle and sponged also to make it look a little rustic. Get it, rustic ~ rustic chic? oh whatever.... I then stamped the star and horseshoe from the set, colored those and cut them out. I adhered them to the card with pop dots. I also used some stickles on the stars to make them pop! Something looked a little off so I made a photo corner from the leftover pieces and tied a small scrap of ribbon to it and I was complete.

Another swap that I am in is "over, under, in, on or around the sea". I chose under for this one.

I pulled a set out and dusted it off that has not been used in forever! My DD had wanted the Fintastic SU! set long ago. Well, she does not stamp with us anymore so it gets no use. Even if she did I'm sure she would not use it because "she's grown up" now ~ or at least she thinks it.

The base card is Bordering Blue and I layered it with Old Olive and DP from K & Company. The images are from SU! Fintastic and the fish is actually from Fishy Friends. I colored all the images in with my SU! Watercolor Crayons. I'll tell you the Blush Blossom crayon is the best for skin color. I so wish that they sold those individually because I'd buy a whole box of those so I would not run out!!!

Once I was done with the coloring and the card was all layered I added a 3/4" circle to the upper left of the image panel with a scrap piece of ribbon thru it. I "hand" stitched a border around the edge with my gel pen and then added color here and there with various color stickles.

Well hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, I know that I did. I'm sorry that I did not post all weekend, but it was simply too beautiful to stay indoors!

The weather report called for rain on Saturday and Sunday. Well, we only got a little rain Sunday evening ~ which turned out perfect.

Hubby's been getting the ground ready for a garden and he's been like a little boy! We purchased our home 2 years ago this August, so we've been slowly doing things to fix it up. Well this year we've got a lot planned.

We built an overhang going out the back door last year and this year we are going to paint it. Yes, we should of last year but there was so many other things we wanted to do. So we are going to paint that and hang some more lights. It's dark at night when I let the dog out (she's worse than a baby. She gets me up at least twice a night to go out - it's no wonder I only fell down the stairs once!!!) so we are putting lights up out there. I love to sit outside when the evening is nice under the patio lights. I've already bought chairs to match the paint. And hubby's going to make some borders to put around the sun room's windows that we will paint to match. There I go again --- the choo-choo jumped the track again!!

The garden, yes. That's what I was talking about. Well, we have this long stretch out back of just house wall. Well sitting there talking the other night I mentioned that it would be nice to have a flower bed there too. The flowers would give a little "pretty" to the long stretch of house. And we have the A/C unit outside which is ugly itself. So yesterday hubby made a flower bed for me. Well, he framed it in and we went and got a trailer load of dirt. It's going to be nice. I so want to have everything up and going for when our dear friend from California comes to visit. It's only a couple of weeks away!!! There is so much to do ~ but she's not coming to see the house, she's coming to visit us. But I still want it pretty! I will post pictures as soon as the flowers are planted.

Ok, enough ramble ramble. On to the card.

As I mentioned I really did not get too much done this weekend ~ but I did manage to make a card for the challenge over at SCS. I love their weekly challenges and card sketches. I truly have learned a lot from there. There are no stamp shows or stores around here like when I was in California, so I rely on learning all the new things from SCS.

I have no stamps to share with you on this card, but look at the paper. Isn't it yummy!!! It's from theangelcompany™ and it's their Juliette collection. It's one that I've got to buy more of!!

So I just followed the directions of Beate's tutorial and used the Juliette paper and that was it! It was really an easy card to make. Of course like Beate said make a template if it's one that your going to make more of! OH!! And the flowers, I used my EK Success and Friskars punches to make the flowers so they'd match.

I thought I'd share....

Today I thought that I'd share with you the RAK card that I received from Tracy over at Stamping Seasons. I got this card a while back from her. Her and I decided to swap catty's. She sells SU! in New Zealand and thought that it would be nice to swap catty's for a different perspective on the inspiration we might get from it. Let me tell you, the SU! New Zealand catty is awesome!!

There are some sets in there that were discontinued from our catty a while ago. And as far as the items for inspiration ~ well they are somewhat different too. There are things in our SU! catty that they have in the New Zealand one but with a different twist. I can tell you that I keep it right next to me along with my SU! catty and my TAC catty. When I need a quick boost of inspiration it is at arm's length to grab for.

I've been busy with making paint cans and bottles that I've neglected the swaps I am in. I still have time before the deadline, but I like to get them done right away.

Here is the first swap cards that I made. These are for an Animal ATC swap that I'm in. Now, a fish is an animal, right? Well it is for this swap :)

I used my new theangelcompany™ stamps for these. Of course the paper is from whatever I had laying around. I did not get a picture of it but the back of the doggie ATC has dog bone paper!

These next ATC's are for a bird swap that I'm in. It's hard to tell, but the flamingo's are colored with my twinkling H2o's. I actually had to dust those off I've not used them in so long!!

The flamingos are from a SU! set that I have ~ I think it was called Tickled Pink. The other ATC is made with my TAC™ set called Hello There. She's adorable, isn't she? I wanted to run a funky border of stitching around the edge and my sewing machine thought that it was a good time to have the tension not work. So I kinda played it off and ran it around 2 times to make it look like I meant to do that!??! I guess it still turned out ok.... I hope!

This last card I made was for the SC172 over at SCS. I am a week late, but at least I tried. Today I am going to try to make SC173. So I'm not that behind....

For this card I used my TAC™ set Ice Cream. I think that this little girl is adorable!!! And the paper used was from the TAC™ Catelynne collection. I just pieced it together like a quilt. The little tab on the side has the word "hello" from the Just Giggle Hostess set. I think that it turned out pretty cute. I am actually sending this card off as a RAK to someone across the pond. Let's see how long it takes to get there...
