Happy Birthday!

Hi everyone, I hope that the start of this holiday weekend is a good one for you!  I also want to wish all my U.S. friends a safe and Happy Fourth of July!

One of the people that works with Ricky asked if I could make a card for her for her nephew's 18th birthday and of course I had to say "YES!" and I knew just the card to make.  A while back, actually five years ago I made a card for Danielle's birthday.  It was a long card that I cut out 18 candles and adhered them to the card.  It was fun, and I've acquired many cut files since that time so I went to work...
Of course at the end of all the candles is a cuppy cake!!  Then I thought I did not have an envelope to put it in so I had to make one.  I didn't get to take a picture of that so you have to trust me, it was cute :)

I thought that I'd pop in and share with you all.  I have worked on some swap cards and I will share those in a couple of days too!  Have a safe and wonderful weekend no matter where you are!

Happy 4th of July!

Ok, I'm a few day's early but I wanted to show you a little something I made for hubby's co-workers.  I love to make little treats for his work family.  So this July 4th I made them some fire works!
I wrapped 5 Rolo's in red paper that was measured 3" x 3 1/4" and secured it with red line tape.  I then took a strip of 1" pattern paper and wrapped it at the top of the roll.  I added a mini glue dot on the inside of the roll to secure a length of red and white bakers twine ~ for the fuse.  The held 3 rolls together with a length of black and white bakers twine.  I am going to make a tag to add to each one, I'm just not sure how I want to secure it though.

These were really quick and easy to make, I hope you like them so much that you want to go buy a bag of Rolo's and make some for your friends!

Have a nice day ~ and a safe and happy 4th of July!!

I never showed you...

I never showed you the digi page that I made from scratch, did I?

It was my very first page that I actually created myself. "Paper" and all. But first, our town has a huge fireworks display on the 4th. There are cars that line up on the side of the roads and everything. The past few years we've heard music too - but not this year. And of course the past couple of years it's rained on us too! We were sitting aside the road waiting for the show to start and I glanced over and saw these two birds sitting on the fence. Of course I had to grab the camera and snap a picture. I'm not sure what kind of birds they are since I've just started to love bird and watching them. If someone knows can you tell me??
And my digi page. Cool huh? I made every thing on the page but the two frames. Those are fireworks from this years show. Mom just had her eye surgery a couple of days before that's why she's wearing the patch. Danielle said that it looks like a cheese grater - it really did! And that's the BBQ we had. Luckily we have a little porch overhang that we can stand under or we would of been wet!
I hope you enjoy. Now I'm off to create something that I can show you tomorrow!

Happy Independance Day!

Good Saturday morning and Happy Independence Day to you all! This July let us remember that freedom is not free. Many have fought and died so that we can have this freedom we enjoy today. Many still fight for these same freedoms. Let us not forget that freedom still comes with sacrifice, responsibility, and a price. I also hope that today is a safe and happy holiday for everyone.
In sticking with the holiday theme I thought that I'd share with you a couple more 4th of July cards, how's that sound?
I made this card with an image that I received from a RAK. I'm sorry, I'm not sure who makes the stamp ~ but I can say that I've had it for a while and I did not want to part with it til now.
The base card is Pacific Point that I layered with Riding Hood Red and DP from Reminisce. I colored the image in with my markers and added a little bit of glam here and there with my sakura gel pen. The picture really does not do it justice, it's a lot more sparkly in real life.

This card I created with a stamp that I've had since I first started stamping, it is from Print Works. I colored the image in with my watercolor crayons then sponged some Real Red ink around it before layering it on to a piece of Riding Hood Red cs. The base card is Pacific Point that I layered with Riding Hood Red and DP from The Paper Studio and Reminisce. The sentiment is an UM stamp that I had received in a grab bag a long time ago from a stamp show ~ I colored that with my markers and stamped it on to white cs. I sponged a little Real Red ink around the panel before adhering it to a piece of Riding Hood Red and Pacific Point scraps. I cut the Pacific Point piece a little like a flag then used pop dots to adhere it to the card.

So wadda ya think?

Please don't forget the freebie that I posted the other day from Living Locurto. It's not too late to print some off for your 4th of July cookout. She's got lot's of great stuff on her site, I'm sure that she will become one of your favorites too!

Once again have a super great day today!

4th of July and The Angel Company

Good almost afternoon! I've got a late start today, sorry...

Well, anyone wanna see some 4th of July cards? I'm going to jump right in since I'm late today. Lucky you, no blah blah blah *Ü* I wonder sometimes if my babble scares you away or not? But if I babble too much you can just scroll down...

I've been kinda bad about making cards this year. It seems that I am slacking or something. I would of normally had all my holiday cards made and in envelopes and address ready to go out this week ~ but of course I'm behind. I have no idea either what's got to me. OH! Yes I do. It's the darn digital scrapping. That's got to be it. I will try to be better, promise.

This next card is one of my 4th of July cards that I've made. I used the TAC set called Auld Lang Syne. Of course I never understood why they named it that ~ isn't that for New Years? Well I guess you could use the fireworks for New Years Eve...

The base card is Pacific Point that is layered with Riding Hood Red and DP from The Paper Studio. I sponged some Real Red ink around the DP layer to give it a little antique look. I then stamped the images on to white cs then used my markers to color them in. Of course then I got this bright idea to frame in the image panel so I cut out a rectangle in Riding Hood Red with my Labels Large nesties set. I then took my Marvy punch and punched the oval out of the center and then placed the image panel behind it. I added some star brads to each corner of the panel for a little more flair. I added stickles to the fireworks because those should be sparkly. Then lastly I took another flag image that I stamped and colored and added it to the top of the image panel a little on the outside with pop dots for dimension. I stamped God Bless America from TAC's Flag Quilt set with Real Red ink, cut that out and adhered it to a scrap of Riding Hood Red and added it on the outside panel. So, wadda ya think?

Here we go on to the next hard. I used some very old stamps for this card. But I did find a couple of them on line, I'll give you the links.
I first stamped the liberty bell from Print Works and also another for a mask. I masked it off and stamped the stars in the background with YoYo Yellow ink. I then stamped the Rockets from Stampouri. I colored in the bell with my watercolor crayons and the blue of the rockets. I then colored the rest of the rockets with my Real Red marker. I sponged some Real Red ink around that panel and layered it on to a piece of Riding Hood Red cs. The base card is Pacific Point that I layered with Riding Hood Red and some DP from Reminisce. The sentiment I had that was an UM piece of rubber and I colored with Real Red and Brilliant Blue inks and cut out to layer on a piece of Riding Hood Red scrap. I cut the ends to look like a piece of ribbon and adhered it to the card with pop dots and I was complete.

I'm going to try to post another digi page this afternoon ~ but I won't promise.

Mom is going in for surgery on her eye this Thursday so I would appreciate any and all your prayers if you would. They say that it is routine and she wont be asleep because she cant take the anesthesia but it's still kinda scary. I don't know all of the technical terms, I believe it is something to do with cataracts and glaucoma ~ but I do know that they are replacing a lens. But I would appreciate any and all prayers.

Have a great afternoon everyone!!
