Happy Tuesday!

Howdy everyone! Here I am again ~ I'm sorry it's been a while. Once again, life. Life got in the way. I was just saying to someone that isn't it weird that when you work you find time to get in your crafting or "me" time. But when you don't work, don't have that 9-5 you can barely find time to get everything done. Why is that? I sure would like to know.

So in the spirit of fall, I've made a couple of fall cards. The first one that I made was for the challenge over at SCS. It was the card sketch from last Wednesday - but at least I had finished it. The challenge was to make a card using this sketch:

And here is the card that I made:
The base card is Chocolate Chip. I layered it with Garden Green, So Saffron and some DP that I've had forever that I don't know who made it, sorry. It was in some paper pack that I got many years ago. The image is very old. It is from D.O.T.S. and it is called Bountiful Harvest. It's one of my favorites to do each year. This time I colored it with my watercolor crayons. I sponged it with Garden Green ink and layered it on to So Saffron and Garden Green. Following the sketch I layered it and the other layers on to the card. I added the length of ribbon for a small touch. I also pulled out my Friskars corner punch and punched the corner of the other layers. So, wadda think? Is is "fall-y"???

You wanna see another Fall card??? Here it is.....

This card is a mish mash of a few stamps. Since I am a lover of fall (really, could you tell?) I love apples and apple trees. These stamps get pulled out every year.

I first stamped the tree by Great Impressions. I then stamped the basket also by Great Impressions, twice. Once on the image panel and once on scratch paper for a mask. I then took out my SU! set Happy Fall Ya'll and used the mask to cover the basket and stamped the fence. I used my pencils and gamsol to color the images. Here and there I used my markers to just add a touch. I layered the image panel on to a piece of Really Rust. The base card is Chocolate Chip and a piece of DP, from who I don't remember. I attached the panel and made some photo corners and added a red jewel to bling it up.

I would also like to show you a card that my dear friend Betty sent to me. She got a few people together and asked us if we wanted to make cards to swap for World Card Making Day which is October 4th. Now if you want why don't you go and make a card and send it out to someone to make their day!
Fall is my favorite time of year ~ you know that, I've said it enough. But what else would you like to see? I might bore you with all the Fall and Halloween cards. Is there something else you'd like to see? If so just leave me a comment, I'd appreciate it!
Well I'm off to visit blog land and then to get a few cards made. What's on your agenda today?
Hugs,
Joani

Good Morning!

Howdy everyone!

I have a quick post to show you. Yesterday I sat down and I was having trouble working on things. I would stop and pick up another project or start to tidy up my craft room. I just could not concentrate on doing anything. I actually did finish a card ~ but I think that my brain was sidetracked and you could tell on my card.

I have this HUGE tubby filled with Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas stamps. I put all those holiday stamps in it and tuck it away through the year. There is no need for me to keep them all out when I don't use them all year. Besides, it makes more room to buy other stamps! Well the crazy mood I was in yesterday I pulled it out. I had to make the first card with this little guy. I bought these stamps years ago. The hat, kitty, kettle and saying stamps are all from Ann-ticipations. This sour faced kitty can be used with so many different things.

So I preceded to make the card. The base card is Basic Black. I added the background paper from Cloud 9. I stamped the kitty and the kettle and colored them in with my watercolor crayons. I then cut out the image panel and adhered it to a piece of Tangerine Tango. Isn't it perfect how SU! came out with another orange color just in time for Halloween?

I used my mega and giga scallop punches to punch out the orange and purple circles. I placed them on the card before I added the image panel. I also added a ladle in the kitty's paw and another hat to his head with pop dots.

I wanted to add the sentiment panel to the front of the card ~ but I kinda ran out of room so it had to go where it went. Told you I was in a strange mood yesterday! I then added some stickles to the steam coming out of the pot and I was finished - thank goodness.

This is a good idea gone bad! It totally goes to show that if you are not feeling right or in a "mood" that it reflects on your work. It reminds me of a saying I once read when my DD was little "Don't let your Mom brush your hair when she's mad at your Dad". But in this case it was "Don't create anything until your personal black cloud blows by".

On another note....

Danielle is in a class in school called floral design. She is really having fun with this class to the point where she'd like to work at the local florist but you've got to be over 18. Anyway, I wanted to show you what she made and brought home yesterday. I think that it's adorable! What looks like shaved ice in the glass is just smooshed up Styrofoam. Cool, huh?

Well ~ that's enough from me today. I think that my mood has changed a bit and I will try to create something better today to share with you.

Have a great day!!

Joani

Just as I promised ~ here I am!

Good morning everyone! Just as I promised I've got some post's to show you.

But first, I wanted to give you a little peek at what is inside of the Fall Supplement from The Angel Company. Are they just the cutest little guys? If you would like to place an order just send me an e-mail. I'd be happy to take care of that for you!

Yesterday when I sat down I was still in Halloween mode, and I might be for a while longer. So you think that you can handle that? I just love Halloween. I will make "other" things too just so it won't get too boring for you....

Here is the first card that I made yesterday. It was super quick and easy. I had saved this piece of DP from SU! Ghostly Greetings to use on something. I just love the white webby flourish thing. So I used the bats from my TAC set called Spooktacular. I layered it on to a piece of Tangerine Tango and Basic Black, added the sentiment and I was done. Told ya, super quick and easy.

Here's another Halloween card... I got this new SU! set called Tableau of Terror. I don't think that they are terrifying, do you?

The base card is Tangerine Tango. I layered it with a piece of Basic Black and then 3 different stripes of DP from the Ghostly Greetings pack. I stamped the image and used my watercolor crayons to color in the image. I sponged Perfect Plum around the edge of the image panel then I layered it on to a piece of Perfect Plum cs. I then made the photo corners from scrap and adhered those to the panel.

For the sentiment and cute little bat those came from my Best Fiends set. I stamped the sentiment in Perfect Plum, sponged it and layered it on to a scrap piece of Perfect Plum cs and adhered it to the card. The bat is stamped in black directly on to the card.

Ok, now here is a card that has nothing to do with Halloween. I needed to make a card thanking my sister in law for her kindness towards hubby and I for our anniversary. We just celebrated our anniversary and she was very generous to us.

I wanted to make something pretty to thank her so I pulled out my A Beautiful Thing set. I just love this sentiment.

The base card is Rose Red. I layered it with Certainly Celery, So Saffron and a piece of DP from the Bella Rose collection. I used my Fiskars corner punch on it and added a length of Purely Pomegranate satin ribbon to it. Very easy and pretty. I'm sure that she'll like it.

Well ~ that's it for today. If there is something that you like, or something that you would like to see different please leave me a comment. I want to make sure that you all enjoy what you see, that you like to stop by my blog.

Just a tease...

Hello there everyone! I would like to first say that I am sorry for not posting on a regular basis lately. We have been helping my SIL get her home ready. One of her son's and his family will be moving out here from California to stay with her and we've been out there everyday for about a week. That's what's been taking up my crafting time. But that's fine, she does SO much for everyone else that it is time we all help her out.

I wanted to share with you a little sneek peek at what The Angel Company has in store for you. Their fall supplement is out and available to view on line! If you'd like to take a peek you can view it HERE. If you are one of my customers your fall supplement is all addressed and ready to be mailed ~ I just need to get to the post office.

I am going to get off this computer and get into the craft room and make something to share with you all tomorrow! Promise!!

Take care & have a happy crafting day!

I'm sorry....

Hello there everyone!!!
I'm sorry that I've not been posting regularly ~ but my DD decided to bring home a nasty bug and she gave it to me!

I should be back in a few days - full steam - making something or another :)

I did want to show you the "tool box" that I got for my birthday. I've been wanting one of these for a while and have not purchased it. It's my inker box.

I took the inkers that I have with a clean sponge and put it in a drawer. When I want to sponge something, say Pink Passion then I know that I am not using a Pixie Pink sponge. I've got almost all the inkers ~ I really did not have reason to buy them all at once. Now I do, I've got to fill all the drawers :)

For the labels I went on to SCS and printed off a chart. You can find it here. I just cut the chart apart for the drawer labels. But it is nice to have because you can keep track of your SU! inventory.

Well - I hope that you have a very nice, crafty day!

Happy Friday!

Good morning everyone! I hope that today finds you well!
I wish that I could say the same. It seems that my wonderful DD has decided to share with me her cold that she just got over. Actually share with me and Mom. So as I sit here feeling not to up to par, I just wanted to share with you a couple of things.
One of the projects that I had made a few months ago for Paper Wings was a picture frame. I often joke with my daughter that I loved it when she was a baby. She never talked back - then she learned how to walk & talk and it's now all history!!

This was one of the easiest projects to do. I really don't remember if there was a pattern or not. I just took a round coaster, cut a hole in the center, covered it with paper (from TAC's Uptown Girl collection) and popped the photo in it.

For the back of the frame you can see that I used just plain pink paper. I took the piece that I cut out and "bent" it a tad then took 2 eyelets and secured the stand to the back of the card.

I added the butterfly on the wire and sandwiched it between the front and the back of the frame. I also added a piece of ribbon to the stand so it would not open too far and fall.

Do you remember when I said that I would not buy anything else til I use what I had? Well, no ~ I've been good. But I'm just bored!! Well my friend Betty stopped by this week and she had some new stamps that I got to ink up. It's from My Favorite Things and the set is called Totally Witchin'! So I was just as excited as if I got something new in the mail myself. And of course it is time to make Halloween cards ~ so that's twice as nice.

I used some SU! paper that I've got - Ghostly Greetings - to make this card.
It's a Basic Black card with different layers of the Ghostly Greetings paper mounted on it. The image was colored with my pencils and gamsol.
I made a couple of photo corners from the extra pieces (Betty, you'd be proud of me!) and used my Sakura gel pen on their stockings and I was done.
It's kinda funky, but I like it.
Well - if I don't make it back here this weekend to post it's either because 1. I'm feeling icky or 2. I'm better and helping my SIL sheet rock a couple of rooms in her home.
Have a great one!

Joani

A quick Howdy & A card!

Hello there everyone!

As you can tell by my not posting, I've been busy for the past few days.

Let me share with you..... Monday was my birthday. One day closer to the big "40"!!! Just one more year and I'm on top of the hill - as my DD would say. But I want to share with you what my wonderful sister-in-law did for me. It was the most memorable birthday I think that I've had.

First let me tell you - we have this hat. It started when I first came out here. I just love birthday's, and I personally think that everyone's day should be their special day. You MUST have a balloon and cake. And you must have some sort of a celebration! So when I first moved out here I went to the party store that they have in town. There was this necklace there that was just beads and it had this huge plastic circle filled with confetti and on it was written "It's my Birthday". Well, I bought it and made everyone wear it on their day. So when my birthday came around my SIL thought she'd top that and buy a tiara that said the same. I had to wear that! But it actually hurt, it was too heavy and pinched so we just put that away.

Well, last year once again my SIL and her boyfriend bought this HUGE hat that said "It's my birthday" but it was colorful with candles on it! So last year I had to wear that in public. Oh, trust me - everyone's birthday since has had to wear it too!!

So Monday started early. My SIL came over, made me wear the hat and we were off. She took me to Starbuck's to start the day. Then she took me to get a pedicure, took me to get my haircut and took me to lunch. Yes, even after I got my hair cut she made me wear the hat! So we came home and a little bit later my hubby took me to the movies! It was a huge day and I slept well that night. You know it is kinda funny ~ and makes me think back to what the comedian Bill Engval said once about "Here's your sign". Here I am wearing this silly hat and people everyplace we went said "Is it your birthday?" Um, well no - my ear's were cold. Trust me people, if it was not my birthday I would not wear the silly hat!

So, now I want to show you a card that I made the other day.

I needed to make a thank you card and this is what I came up with. I was searching thru my book that I made up of sketches from SCS and this popped out at me. To be honest I forgot to write it down, but I think that it is sketch 25 or something close to it. It was an old one, I remember that.

And trying to stick with my pact of not buying anything new until I use what I have (this could take a while!) I used an old SU! set called Both Way Blossoms. What better than something long and skinny for this sketch, huh?

My base card was Purely Pomegranate. I layered it with a piece of Certainly Celery and a piece of the Bella Rose DP. That paper is so yummy!!! I stamped the images and layered them on to Purely Pomegranate & swiped them across a Purely Pomegranate ink pad. I took my designer label punch and punched a piece of Purely Pomegranate paper and adhered that to the card. I then stamped the sentiment from Versatile Verses on a piece of white cs with Pomegranate ink and layered that on to a piece of Certainly Celery cs.

Before I finished I added a little sparkle with my sakura gel pen to the flowers and I was done.

I hope you enjoyed my post today ~ now I need to get off this computer and go create something!

Have a great day!!

Hugs,
Joani

Good Morning!

Good Morning everyone! I hope today finds you all well.

Yesterday was not such a bad day. We drove out to see Betty where she was camping and took her TAC order to her. Not bad, huh? How's that for customer service :)

I wanted to get some crafting done, but the day seemed to slip by. I'm not sure where it went to. I looked at the clock last night and it was 7:00p.m. and thought "we didn't even have supper!" Time just sort of got away from me. I did have time to finish a card I was working on. I wanted to make a card for this weeks sketch challenge 192 over at SCS so I did. I'm in Halloween mode right now.

For the base card I used Basic Black. A must have staple at Halloween ~ and I have plenty of it!
I layered the card with paper from SU!'s Ghostly Greetings collection. I'm so going to get more to keep on hand because I'm sure it will retire.

I stamped the image from SU! Just Fiends set and colored it with my pencils and gamsol then layered it on to a piece of Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black. It looked a little lonely there so I stamped the sentiment from TAC's Spooktacular in white on black paper and layered that on to a piece of Pumpkin Pie I punched out with my scallop punch. I layered it on to the paper with pop dots, I think it looks much better.

Now lot's of you were asking for directions on how to make the tri-fold card that I made. It's very simple.

Take a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of paper. Score it at 2 1/2" and 5 3/4". On the 2 1/2" score line cut the paper down to 3 1/2" and on the 5 3/4" score line cut the paper down to 4 1/4". Cover each front section with DP or stamped cs. To make the belly band just use a piece of cs that is 6 1/2" and decorate the front with different punches or flowers, whatever is desired.

Told ya, very easy!

I think that today I will get some more crafting done - so hopefully tomorrow I will be able to post more to show you.

So far I've only got 4 people to play in my "Birthday Candy" game. Does no one want to play? I will run the game thru the end of the week and draw a winner on September 12th. You don't have to send me a card. Just make a card, post it on your blog and link it back to me. Make sure that you post a message on my blog so I know that you did it. Easy, fun and a chance to win some goodies for yourself.

Have a great rest of your weekend!

Hugs,
Joani

A SpookTACular kind of day & gone to the birds!

Howdy everyone! I hope that your week's been going good so far! Yesterday was Doctor appointment day and run around day. Those day's just beat me - especially when it's 90 and humid out. Going in and out of the cool stores to the heat outside ~ it just kicks my rear! So today I figure that I am doing nothing but stay in and craft. The only time that I'm peeking my head outside is when the mail comes.

And speaking of mail..... I placed one of my stamper's group party orders on Tuesday. I figured that Monday was a holiday and TAC was closed, they might be a little behind. Well, I went in last night to check the order and it was shipped on Monday!!! It should be here today ~ that's so super quick! So later on today I'm going to be sorting and putting my packages together. I never would of thought it would be here that quick. I just love getting party orders in. I ooooogle over everyone's stuff and then make a list of what I "have" to get.....

Well - my hubby finally finished one of his projects the other day. He started off late spring with making a bird house. I have a weeping willow tree in the back yard that I hung a bird feeder in. I just love to watch the birds in the yard. So he thought that he'd make a birdhouse to go with the feeder. Then my SIL was tossing out her birdbath - I took it. So now I've got the bird bath and the feeder. So Hubby's been working on the birdhouse for a long time. It's just something that he tinkers around with in his spare moments. And it's funny ~ he started out making this little birdhouse and it got bigger and bigger. I teased him that it was no longer a birdhouse, it was a bird condominium! It's got 10 holes for 10 different compartments in it! It's huge! But I love it, and I love him for making it! So now, within a few feet from one another I've got the feeder, the bird bath and the condo all together.
He's such a joker - I told him to pose for the camera and this is what I got!

He knows that I'm always snapping pictures of everything. And some day I will have them all in an album - I've got to get another one. The one that I have is so full and heavy that you pretty much have to keep it on the table.....

But anyway - each "story" of the house is petitioned off inside. There are 4 "units" on the first floor, four on the second and then there is 2 "attic" units. He used actually roofing shingles on the roof. Then he got out the table saw and cut the little strips to make the "barn doors". This project has literally taken months of a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Of course I always have something for him to do. Like the hillbilly hangers.... He was working on those around the parts to the condo... But now it's done and he's happy.

Now, on to what I created....
A couple of weeks ago SCS had a tutorial on the Joy Fold card. I just never got around to making it until now.
As most of you know I am a lover of Halloween. It is my favorite holiday to decorate and send cards out. There are so many adorable Halloween images out there. No, I don't like the scary, creepy stuff. But I love the cute images, pumpkins and all the cute little kiddies dressed up trick or treating. It's so fun!
This card I made using a Basic Black base. I used the SU! Ghostly Greeting DP along with Pumpkin Pie and Only Orange cs. The images are from TAC's Spooktacular and Trick or Treaters sets. They are adorable!! I colored everything with my pencils and gamsol and I was done.
Today I hope to get some more Halloween or Fall items done ~ but I must first get off the computer to do so :)
I hope that you all have a wonderful day!!! And dont forget!!! I am running "birthday candy" for someone who would like to win a suprise!! See this post for more info!

Joani

Good morning everyone! And some birthday candy

I hope that the long weekend kept everyone safe and rested. Now I'm a little excited for fall to be here. Labor day in my mind marks the end of summer - even though it seems to be getting hotter and hotter out.

I think I've said it before, my favorite time of year is fall. The leaves are changing, there begins a crispness in the air. But according to the forecast for this coming week, I don't think there will be any crispness in the air any time soon.
Enough of the sappy stuff ~ let's get to work!

This card is still not what I wanted. I have this image in my head and it just wont work out on paper! Has that ever happened to you?
I've got this image in my head but when I sit down to create the card it just won't come out the way I want to. The card still turned out cute I guess ~ but it's not what I wanted.
I used a stamp set from TAC that's been discontinued - but everyone has a set similar to this one I'm sure.

The base card is Pixie Pink and the DP is some I found in my scrap drawer already cut - I'm not sure who it's from. I stamped the little candle from a SU! set called Birthday Banter for each day of the month except for the actual birthday. I stamped the date for the day. I then punched out the circle using my 3/4" and 1/2" circle punches. The cupcakes are from a Stampendous set "Hey there Cupcake" set and the present is also from them. The hat is from Hero Arts. I stamped each and cut them out and positioned them at different places on the card. I used some stickles to jazz it up a bit and I was done.
I was in need of making a card to send to a new found friend on line. I want
ed to use some of my yummy paper from SU! I was so in love with the Berry Bliss paper that they had - and now that it's gone I had to fall in love with another, Bella Rose. To me it's almost as nice as the Berry Bliss ~ but then anything that has to do with card making and is brown is ok in my book!

Just a simple card to go with the post it note holder I made for her too. The card is nothing but DP and ribbon, with a small sentiment in the corner from my TAC set Enjoy Today. Sometimes simpler is better.

There is another lady that I've met on line thru one of the forums that I belong to. She's having a bit of a hard time right now and I wanted to make something that might cheer her up. And of course one of my favorite flowers is daises. Some more DP that I have in a drawer that I don't know who it's from. I do have lot's and lot's of paper like that.
The daisy is from TAC and it's called Gerbera Daisy. The base card is Ballet Blue. I stamped the image and colored it in with my pencils and gamsol then layered it on to a piece of Creamy Caramel and sponged some Creamy Caramel ink around the edge of the image panel. The card is layered with the DP and Creamy Caramel. I added a length of ribbon to it too.
Once the card was all put together I added some stickles to the flower to give it a little shine. I sure hope that it brightens her day.
Since my hits are getting up there, I want to offer up some candy - "birthday" candy that is. Next week is my birthday and I was thinking that I would offer up a present to you all.
Make me a birthday card and post it on your blog. Then link it back to me and post a message on this post. I will then draw thru random.org the winner of some blog candy that I will be giving to you. Think of it as my birthday present to YOU. Let's see how many people we can get to play this.....
I hope that you all have a wonderful day!
Hugs,
Joani
