Fixed?

I'm not sure what happened the other day but it looks like I can post pictures again.  Something was "wonky" the other day and it looks like it fixed itself or it's back to normal.  I've heard that not all blogs were like this - but I'm glad that it fixed itself.

So - without making you wait any longer, here are those teacher appreciation gifts that I promised to show you.
The base notebook is made from Soft Sky card stock. The DP does not list on it where it is from, sorry.

I used stamps from Rubber Stampede to accent the notebook. I used my little sewing machine from Provo Craft for the stitching and I tied ribbons around the pen after I inserted the DP in the barrel.
Here is an up close of the little school bus that I stamped inside on a few pages.  I've had this school bus for years and I don't get a chance to use it often so I was glad for this opportunity.  After all, this is her last year - next is college.
The base of this holder is Apricot Appeal.

I stamped the little chalkboard inside these.  It is also from Rubber Stampede.

They are very easy to make.  I had found them over at Carolina's Creative Pad.  She did not give the dimensions of the notepad - so when I first started to make them I used some cheap paper to try first.  Do you know how many times I've tried to make something and I ended up wasting good paper?  So now I use cheap paper or white paper to first try.  I had to adjust the dimensions for this because the notepad is 5" x 8"

I'm off ~ I'm taking Dixie for a walk and I see there is a garage sale just up the street.  Maybe I'll find something cool!  Have a super great day!

Thinking of the teacher...

I was going to post the teacher appreciation gifts that I made for Danielle's teachers, but blogger has changed things once again and I can't figure out how to post pictures on here!!

Help!!

Once I figure it out I'll be back to post...

Another scrappin' day...

I want to show you the other book that I made for Danielle's friends.  This one is for the other one of her twin friends.  Like I mentioned yesterday, the pictures are almost the same - but the layouts are different.  I hope that you enjoy them, and they spark some kind of creativity for you.
I love how this page turned out.  I love cutting the flowers and popping them up like this.
This shot was taken outside of a local coffee shop here in town.  We've got some really nice old buildings downtown.
I added some of the flowers that Mom made, and a butterfly too.
All the boys looked so handsome!
What a great bunch of kids!!

If you have any questions, just ask.  Like I mentioned yesterday ~ when I scrap there is stuff everywhere!!  It is really hard to keep track of what I used and from where and whom.  Most of the supplies used I listed in yesterday's post, but if I missed something (which I might of) just ask.

Have a great day!!

How about a little scrappin'?

This is pretty much what I was working on part of last week and most of the weekend.  I made a couple of books for Danielle's best friends of the prom.  Most of the pictures are the same for both of them, but the layouts are different.  Danielle gave them to the girls this morning ~ I can't wait to see if they liked them!
Here goes:
The books are a little different in size.  They are 7" x 7".  That is the fun thing about making your own books, you can make them whatever size you want.  This is the cover.  I used some thin chipboard and card stock that I adhered with Mod Podge.  I used some paints on the cover to to give it a little different look.  I cut the picture out with my nesties.  All the card stock that was used was Barely Banana, Regal Rose and Certainly Celery.  I also used the coordinating inks also.  The yellow piece that is under the picture here was in a box already cut, I think that it was YoYo Yellow but I'm not sure.  This is the only place that I used it because it matched the paint a little better.
All the DP that was used was from Paper Wishes.  I bought some of their paper by the pound.  You never know what your going to get, but it's fun.
I used rub ons and various stamps.
I used my Cricut machine to cut out the letters.  I used the Base Camp cartridge.
This paper was perfect!  It was some from Paper Wishes and I had a few sheets so I used it as a base and I took another sheet and cut out the flowers to pot dot on the top.  How pretty, huh?
I cant remember the vendor of these stamps, but I remember the collection name.  Silly huh?  It was Pollen Dust.
That's it for today.

I hope that you find some inspiration in these pictures.  Have a great day, I'll see you again tomorrow!!

Wanna see something different?

I know that I've been on Mother's Day mode - but I've got something else to show you today.  Ready??  OH NO, first I must show you what I got in the mail.  I'm such a lucky girl...
♪ I'm the luckiest girl in the world ♪

My dear friend Keersten had sent me this package in the mail the other day and I squeaked when I opened it!  The whole box full of cuppy cake stuff!  I l♥ve l♥ve l♥ve it!!  Those big cupcakes are little trinket boxes.  And I've got a journal, paper, notepad, lip gloss (which I've always been addicted to), stamps and note cards with little envies.  Isn't it the bestest!!  I told Keersten that I need to clean my shelf off so I can put the stuff up there.  The paper will go in with my "special" paper in a drawer that had MY name on it and no one else touches it - It's the "rules"....

THANK YOU very much Keersten, you made my week!!

And speaking of friends, when Betty stopped by for a play day last we made these cute little boxes.  I'm not sure where the DP came from, but it is adorable...

I'm sorry if the picture color is off, but I think that my camera may be going ka-put!

I had purchased the template FOREVER ago from Papertrey Ink, it's the Card Couture template.  I'm sure that there are lots and lots of things that this can be used for.  I'm thinking of putting some digi images in it to keep til I'm ready to use them.  I generally print out a whole sheet of them at a time not to waste paper and this would hold them just fine til I'm ready to use them.

Does that inspire you?  I hope so.  I'm off for now ~ If I'm not back I hope that you all have a great weekend.  I plan on spending some time with Danielle and scrap booking...  What will you be doing?

For Mom

More Mother's day...  I've got lot's of women in my life who if I could chose another Mother all of them would be it.  There are lots of women who I've befriended in the past years that mean the world to me and I want to recognize them on Mother's day.  So here is more to show you to inspire you for Mother's day, or any day for that matter.
The image I used was from SU's Flower Garden.  I stamped the image and colored it in with chalk and cut it out with my oval nesties.  I cut a piece of red card stock with my scallop oval nesties and layered it under the image panel.  The card base is Barely Banana and I layered it with DP from SU Sweet Slumber set.  I took a piece of Barely Banana and a small piece of Sweet Slumber and stitched it and adhered it to the card.  I also cut out some flourishes with my cuttlebug and before I adhered the image panel I added those to the card front.  Once the image panel was adhered I added another butterfly with pop dots on top of the one stamped on the panel - I added some stickles to it for a little "pop" and I was complete.

I hope that it inspires you.

Have a super great day!!

More Mother's Day

I've got some more Mother's Day cards to show you.  I sure hope that they give you some ideas, some inspiration.  When I blog hop I love to take a peek at what everyone makes, I'm sure you do to.  No matter how hard I try to re-create something that I've seen (case) I just can't.  There are some cards that I want to make just as they are - but my hands and my brain don't work like that.  It is always different.  But if there is ever anything that you see on here and you want to case it, I am more than happy to have you do so.  It makes me happy to know that you like my work that much - all I ask is that you give me the credit.

Enough of that...  Let's take a look at the cards...
I whipped up this card yesterday afternoon.  I had purchased some of the Melon Mambo DP and I don't think that I've used it, til now.

I stamped the image from Memories of the Heart.  It's an old set that a goodie ~ I think that it's perfect for Mother's Day.  I stamped the image and used my watercolor crayons to color it in.  I cut it out and used some stickles on the flowers and set it aside while I put the rest of the card together.  I took a light pink piece of linen card stock and layered the Melon Mambo DP on top of it.  I took my nesties Labels Nine and cut out a piece of the pink linen card stock and stamped the word "Mom" in Rose Red ink and attached it to the card.  Once that panel was adhered I attached a length of organdy ribbon and attached the whole panel to the card front.  By then the stickles was dry on the flowers and I attached the image to the front of the card.  I finished off the inside and I was complete.
I'm still not sure about this card.  I love the flowers in the Full Bloom set - I've used them a lot for various things, but I'm still not sure about this card.

The base card is Pink Pirouette (I'm so GLAD that this color is coming back!!) and I layered it with Pretty in Pink and some Georgia Peach DP.  I added a piece of ribbon that was in my scraps because it has the same colors as the Georgia Peach DP.  I stamped the swirl from Judikins in Close to Cocoa ink directly on the DP.  I then took a piece of Blush Blossom paper and crumpled it and inked the edges, also with Close to Cocoa ink and adhered it to the card.  I stamped the images from the In Full Bloom set and colored them in with my watercolor crayons and added that panel to the card over the Blush Blossom panel.  I also stamped 3 more and colored them in and cut them out and pop dotted them on to the card a little offset from the others.  I stamped the word "Mom" in the lower left corner and a little stickles to the flowers and I was complete.
A lot of times I will stamp an image and if I can I will look for it online and provide a link to it just in case you would like to see where they are offered ~ however the Mom, Mother's Day and the swirl stamps that I've used in these cards are no longer available that I can tell.  The Happy Mothers Day stamp that I used inside these cards I did find on EBay, but I felt a little weird posting that link for the benefit of someone who I don't know.

I will try to come back later today and show you another card...  So, see you later!!

Soft Pencil boys

A while ago I was in need to make some birthday cards for baby boys.  I really didn't have any images so I popped over to Soft Pencil and got some of their digital images.  I got their "Little Boy's Collection".  It's adorable and it's very versatile.  There are all different boys in this collection that I'm sure your to find the one you need.
I knew these cards were for little one's so I knew that I did not have to make them too complicated or full of layers.  I took a piece of Certainly Celery cards stock and layered it with a piece of Kraft and some DP that I had in my scraps drawer.  I used my nesties to punch the image panel and the layer behind it.  I colored the image with watercolors and markers.  I was not sure how old the little one was going to be so I punched the scallop circle in the lower right corner with a 1 3/8" yellow circle then stamped the numbers 1,2 and 3 so the sender could add it to the card.

Adorable huh?  What about the next one?
I pretty much did the same thing with this card.  I colored the image with watercolors and markers.  I used my nestie to punch out the image panel and the layer under it.  I used the scallop circle punch so the sender could add the age.  I also cut some stars and glittered them to add to the card for a little fun "bling"...

What do you think??  Let me know!

I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before or not, but I love the images over at Soft Pencil.  They remind me so much of the Hello Kitty images of my years (long) past...  But they are just adorable!!  And they will be having their 1st anniversary coming up soon - I can't wait to see what they have in mind.  Take a peek over at their blog, you'll love it!!

That's all I've got for you today.  Now I'm off to do some more "wife-ly" duties (meaning I've got some more cleaning to do) and then I'm getting to my craft table!

See you tomorrow Ü

Just sharing...

Hi Everyone!
Well, as most of you all know I've been talking about Danielle and her senior prom.
I just thought that I'd post a couple pictures of Danielle and her friends dressed for prom Saturday. It is their senior prom and they thought that taking pictures at the cemetery in town would be fun. At first I thought that it was a little "weird" but the twins (her best friends that are in the pic's) Mom is a photographer and she took them ~ and if your in the area and need pictures, she's wonderful!

Danielle and her BF Tyler...
Danielle, her BFF's and their guys...
Just the girls...
The group...

To add to all the drama of Prom - Danielle worked Friday night and she fell at work. It was midnight and I ended up taking her to the hospital to have her checked out. She was hurting ~ and in tears because she was afraid that she was going to miss prom. She sprained the muscles in her back. She is sore but she's doing fine. I think that there was nothing that was keeping her from prom.

And the dress... Drama from the word go!! We took her to the mall to find that "one of a kind big, poofey Cinderella" dress. After HOURS of walking and trying on dresses this is what she came home with. I was not too happy. I didn't and still really don't like it. It's really not prom dress material. But as you can see, it's the style with the kids. We had to take the dress to a seamstress, mostly to fix the whole "boob-age" area as Danielle would put it. She could not do anything for her - but she did sew the black panels on the two side so she would not fall out on the sides. Bra? Um, no. We searched and searched and still could not find anything for her. We ended up getting some "tape" from Victoria's Secret to hold the top together - but it still was not just right but it worked fine for the evening.

Even though I did not like the dress I still think that she looked amazing in it!! And when we went and got her hair done Saturday we were on our way home and she wanted to stop at McDonald's and get something, she was hungry. So she was eating her 2 apple pies and said "now I can eat whatever I want". I guess she was trying to be really good to stay in that size 7!!

Sorry this post is so long - I just had to share. My little girl is little no more...

I'll try to be back later to post a creation ~ if not, I'll be here tomorrow for sure.  Thanks for looking.

Happy Friday!!

Woo Hoo!! It's Friday!!  Weekend here we come.  Or shall I say Senior Prom here we come!!  Thank goodness...

Prom has been such drama this year.  I'm going to be glad when it is over...  I'll post pictures after it.  My whole problem with it was the dress this year.  Danielle went to the mall with all intentions of getting a big poofy Cinderella type dress this year ~ what we came home with could not of been any more opposite than that.  But that's all I'm saying for now...  You'll see...

Enough of that (before my blood pressure goes up again Ü) you wanna see some cards...  I do have to say sorry in advance for these.  I didn't write down what I used and I'm not sure of the paper on these ~ but at least they may give you some inspiration.
When we went to our gathering last week we got on the subject of bra's.  I don't know how - that's always happening with me.  I can be on one subject talking about one thing and choo-choo my train derails and I'm on another track...  My Mom says it's age, I hope not!  Anyway I made this card for Betty.  And she just told me that she's already paid it forward.  How perfect is that!!  I'm glad.
This card I used my Angel Company set called Brighten Girl.  I love this little set, and it kinda reminds me of the Hello Kitty stuff from my childhood.  It also reminds me a great deal of the designs over at Softpencil.  If you've not gone there you must!!  There are so many adorable digi designs!!  But be sure to come back here.

I know that it's not much - I always feel terrible if I don't post much ~ or the materials I've used on my cards.  There are a few cards that I've made that I did not write down what I used and if I don't and try to do it by memory then I'm in trouble Ü.  If you would like to know who the vendor is for the bra and panties then I can get it for you.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Sweet Mother's Day

It's that time to get started on Mother's Day Cards ~ it's really not that far away.  So here is the first one that I thought that I'd share with you.  And just in time too because I got quite a stash of paper from BettyStampin' Up is having a sale if you go to the web site and click on clearance you can get some really good deals!!  Go check it out HERE...

Anyway, wanna know about the card?  Sure you do, that's why your here...
The base card is Barely Banana that I layered with Blush Blossom and Georgia Peach DP.  I took a piece of Blush Blossom and stamped Happy Mothers Day in Regal Rose ink on it.  I then layered a piece of Pretty in Pink paper behind it that I used my scallop edge punch on.  I paper pierced some holes and added a length of Rose Red ribbon to it before I adhered it to the card.  I then stamped some flowers from the Friendship Blooms set with Regal Rose ink and cut them out.  I added a jewel brad to them and adhered them to the card.  A little stickles and I was done.  It was a quick card, but I think that it's pretty.
I was browsing thru the SCS gallery the other day and I saw a card similar to this one and had to make it.  Have you ever tried to case a card and it does not come out the same ~ well this is one of those times.

I used a linen card stock that I've had for a while as a base.  I stamped the Medallion stamp on a piece of Purely Pomegranate with the coordinating ink and cut it in half.  I then ran a piece of Basic Black thru the  cuttlebug with my swiss dots folder and punched the edge with my punch.  I took a scrap of the Purely Pomegranate and punched that also and added under the black piece.  I added a length of ribbon to all of it and then adhered it to the card.  After I added it to the card I wanted a little something extra so I added the stickles to it for a little more of a punch.  The sentiment was stamped in Purely Pomegranate ink and it was also from SU! but I forgot which set it is, sorry...

I hope you like what you see today ~ and that it inspires you!  Have a super great day!!

Happy Hump Day

What a beautiful day it is out today!  I don't think that the weather can be any more perfect - I think that I will be taking the dog for a walk today.  It poops her out and she does not play, bite, chew, jump, eat - all the things that puppies do.  She just rests.  I forgot how puppies are.  Of course every time I sit down to do something she's right there with her rope or ball in her mouth and she wants to play.  So I found that taking her for a walk poops her out and I can get something done.  Just like babies.

I want to share some inspiration with you all.  Last Saturday Mom and I went to our Splitcoast shoebox swap.  I just love getting together with these ladies.  They are a great bunch!  And I want to share with you what we all did.
I also took part in the 3D swap with the ladies.  This is what I came home with...
They are all a talented bunch of ladies and I look forward to the next one coming up!!

Hope these cards inspired you.  I will be back tomorrow with more, have a super great day!!

A couple of my favorites...

I'm here today, barely...  Yesterday was what I call "run around day" at the McDonald house.  The neighbors must of thought that I was crazy with all the in and out's I was doing yesterday.  I had to take Danielle and Mom everywhere.  I put a few miles under my belt I should say, and that was just in town driving.  And then this morning I wake up to find the day gloomy.  The weather's been so pretty out and now today is gloomy ~ or what I call 'funeral weather'.  All grey and blahhhh!!

So I think that I'll show you some perky, cheerful cards.  How's that?  To take away from the dull drums.
Here is one of the cards that I was working on to sell a while back.  I just love that chef from the Voila set.  I love to paper piece him whenever possible too!  And once again paper from the Sweet Always collection.  That's one favorite that I'd love for SU to bring back!  The image fits perfect on the easel cards too!  So wadda ya think?
Now how cheerful and bright can you get with this card?  I love the set Time Well Spent.  A while back I asked a friend of mine, Keersten, if she'd stamp some images for me because I knew that her being a SU! demo had received this set.  She said that she had not even put it together that she did not care for it and she sold it to me.  Yes Keersten, you loss was my gain Ü I've used this set SO many times - It's one of my favorites for sure!!  Thank you!

So I made a flower pot card and stamped and cut all those flowers out.  What better to do with them than to add stickles to all the flowers?  That really made them pop!  It was a lot of cutting but it does not bother me because like I said it's one of my favorites...
I've also got a digi page here of Dixie this past winter in the snow.  She loved being out in the snow and cold.  These past few days when it's been warm she's been kinda lazy and not wanted to go outside.  Today it rained and it's a little cooler and she's been outside most of the morning.  Crazy girl!!  But it's her first spring and she's not sure what to make of the changing seasons.  Now if I could only stop her from chasing the bee's and wasps!

I hope that you all have a wonderful day!  I'm now off to create!

Just a little quickie to hold ya over...

I have lots of running around to do today so this will be super quick!

Have you ever wanted to case a card and you sat down to try to do it but it just never comes out the way it should?  I can never make a card the same as I see it.  Maybe the base cards are different than what I start with ~ who knows...  But I cased these two cards (kinda) from the Splitcoast Gallery for the Party Hearty set HERE
I'm not sure who made the originals - I found them a while back and I was just getting around to making these cards last night.  This cards base is Pink Pirouette that I layered with Pixie Pink and some DP from the Sweet Always collection.  I so wish that I bought a lot more of that paper.  I added some stickles to the scallop border for a little more umpf...
This cards base is Pink Passion that I layered with some more Sweet Always DP, Chocolate Chip and Pumpkin Pie card stock.  I also tied the bow differently than I normally do.  I'm kinda handicap when it comes to bows.  I punched out the 'celebrate you' with my scallop circle punch and layered it on to a piece of Pumpkin Pie cs that I cut with my nesties.  The stickles were another touch I added.

I actually sat down last night and made 3 cards after dinner in the craft room.  It was SO nice.  It was a little warm ~ our AC is on the blink again.  Just about every year we have to replace a part on the unit because of lightening strikes in the area, and yes this is another year we have to.  I seen to just figure it into the finances like taxes every year...  It was actually warm enough that by the time I was done with the 2nd card the stickles on the first card were completely dry!!

That's all I have for now.  If I can get done soon enough today I will try to post again but I'm not promising anything.  Have a super great day!
